Without much else to do, the two are left to converse as the countdown falls to zeroes. In simpler words, a fill-in-the-gaps for Alien Space’s 2029 segments incorporating the bomb timer as a device guiding their conversations.

“This isn’t a study in fine art.” Welt adjusted his glasses, finally sitting down at the desk - on the chair, like a normal person. “We’re drawing recreationally. For fun. Have you… ever done that before?”
There was a lengthy, predictable pause. “...No,” came the Divine Key’s eventual admission.

“Well, yeah,” March beamed, radiating her signature youthful charm. “We’re both super cool artists. I’m not putting myself down, I just think it’d be fun to be able to - invent stuff, so I could both capture memories from life, and… manifest them, I guess. And, more than that, it just seems that, I dunno.. drawing would be fun, right?”
Welt ends up somehow hosting an impromptu drawing session for the younger Express members after they return from a stressful day. Meanwhile, in the nebulously-distant past, two travelling companions share a brand new sketchbook, in a vain, poorly-hidden attempt at poaching information out of each other.

“Neither are you,” Welt retorts. “I would say that we are just as unlucky as each other.”

“Fine,” Welt said, lying back down. Despite his initial trepidations about the setting, once he was within the confines of a warm bed, it was hard to summon the urge to do anything other than attempt to get cozy. Much to Welt’s surprise, however, he felt a weight join him on the mattress. When he turned to look, he was met with the sight of the Void Archives diligently trying to crawl under his duvet.
“Don’t look at me like that,” they said almost instantaneously, voice high-strung and defensive. It was clear their idea of ‘going to bed’ was a pale imitation of the human instinct, because they had forgotten half of the underlying social rules behind it. Welt cringed at the feeling of cold shoes against his bare calf.
The Void Archives is initially gifted a solitary room on the Express, just like any other passenger. They don’t seem to like it very much, sometimes.
