“why...?" He asked in a small, broken voice, tears finally beginning to stream down his face, “Why didn’t you come rescue me?”
There was a small moment of silence, a tense pause between the two brothers. The answer to Luffy's question was the hardest thing he ever had to admit. Sabo didn't want to hurt his little brother anymore than he already had, but lying wouldn't help anyone.
It was time for the truth. The air left Sabo's lungs from for a moment. He took a second, looking away before finally finding the words he needed to say.
