Summary
Balthier and Basch had a history of dancing around each other. Longing stares, soft touches, inside jokes between the two.
When things would get too "real" for Balthier, he leaves in the middle of the night, leaving behind a note saying his goodbyes.

Summary
There was a strange sound on the other side of the door. Given that Wei Wuxian was on that side, this wasn’t particularly surprising, although it did nothing to appease the knotted apprehension in Jiang Cheng’s stomach. It was somewhat ameliorated by the fact that Lan Wangji was standing next to him, which ruled out at least some of the more … unpleasant explanations.

“Stop licking so much!” Wei Wuxian’s laughter spilled into the hallway. “So excitable! Aiyah, calm down! Contain yourself, mei nv!”
Jiang Cheng’s eyes shot sideways towards Lan Wangji. The man looked the same as ever. Jiang Cheng cleared his throat. “Should we just --”
The suggestion to come back later died on his lips as Lan Wangji reached out and, without even a warning knock, opened the door.
Wei Wuxian’s head whipped around to the door, his eyes wide with surprise. “Lan Zha-- YINGYING, NO!"
One moment, Jiang Cheng stood frozen with shock as his brother lunged after a blur of white.
The next, he had been tackled to the floor and his face was being licked.
“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji said. “Why do you have a dog?”

Summary
No one in town has ever reached the top of the hill just outside of town, though many have tried. All that attempted it were met with horrible monsters that had them racing back down to escape them. Dean and his friends decide they're going to give it a shot (and Dean's annoying little brother who has to tag along for everything), so they fill their backpacks and they head up the hill.
The climb was taking much longer than any of them expected for something as simple as a hill, but it's the things they encounter along the way that make it all very difficult. They're determined though, and it doesn't take Dean long at all to figure out what is going on. From there they're able to make the rest of the climb to reach the top of the hill. It's not an easy journey getting there, and it's not any easier getting back down, but they achieved something no one else had. They couldn't wait to brag about it either.

She turns back to face Fabian. Her panic must reflect in her eyes, because he frowns at her immediately, suddenly looking worried. "Adaine? What's going on?"
"The door isn't opening," Adaine tells him, and she shudders, nearly losing her balance in the now nearly a foot high water, steadily pouring into the room through several fountains built into the walls. "Fabian, we're stuck."
Fabian shakes his head, and he lunges forwards, wading through the water with that same ease to join her. "That doesn't make any sense," he mutters, "we defeated the elemental! The door should– open!"
