Forest Ranger Nefise Petrus is tasked with rescuing three climbers in the Washington Olympic Mountains from a freak ice storm. Taking cover in system of forgotten lava tubes, the four delve deeper, where they discover a direct magic source in a non-magical world. The magically irradiated hot spring at the end of the cave not only heals their wounds, but gives them powers they don't fully understand, as well as a portal to another world.
But, of course, the US military sees this site of misunderstood radiation and portal as a weapons. Nefise must decide whether to follow orders or her morals as a conscientious objector. As her powers grow, maintaining her relationships will become just as challenging as her new, secretive life.

A story following Earth Dancer Kaguya as she struggles to bridge a gap between godhood and her mortal relationships that become strained, namely with Subaru and Kusatsu -- two more key perspectives. They explore a love triangle of sorts, ranging the gamut from enemy to lover tropes, while restoring friendships.
It is set just after the Black Dragon's rider (Subaru) wakes up in Summer Village, focusing in on this region of Azuma. The narrative is split by dates formatted similarly to the GoA calendar, extending for three years (plus a Year 63 epilogue). It also contains late spoilers regarding post-endgame content, although this version is arranged differently from canon scenes (as Kaguya is not married with kids before adventuring to the Forest of Endings).
This romance is heavily steered towards a Subaru x Kusatsu ship, with more concepts involving friends aiding one another in a world of broken spirits, godhood, and new beginnings.

And here was the main problem with this entire trip, something Zwijo hadn’t considered at all…
“We’ve never enjoyed hot springs without being surrounded by millions of soldiers, so… thank you for coming up with the idea to come here.” Leaning down, Zwijo placed a chaste kiss on blue hair.
Yudias smiled and looked up. “Heh… to be honest, I didn’t know it was just for the two of us, but I’m glad it is~!” He returned the gesture with a tight hug. “Let’s try the hot springs first!”
“Very well.”
Stepping back, Zwijo now took a step toward the main room but stopped when Yudias simply started undressing right there, carelessly tossing his clothes onto the floor.
“What are you—?” Zwijo could feel his face heating up. Once again, he hadn’t considered the implications of private hot springs.
…They’d have to be naked.
Zwijo and Yudias enjoy a moment to themselves in the hot springs.
