A fresh drink was put in front of Konoha as he recalled the day roughly 13 years ago when he, Bokuto, and the rest of their class graduated. As soon as they all had their diplomas, Bokuto pulled a giant bouquet out of his ass and announced to all the people around him that he was gonna sweep Akaashi off his feet and ask him out. Konoha wanted to tell him that Akaashi’s allergies would act up, but Bokuto was already rushing away.
“Konoha-san?”
He whirled around to see the man he was just thinking about in the flesh. He looked more beautiful than the last time they met up, but that was something he thought every time they were face to face. And much like every other time, his eyes briefly flickered down to his left ring finger.
Only this time instead of the gold band, Konoha saw a faint tan line where the ring had sat for the past 8 years.
AKA 31 year old Konoha always kinda thought of Akaashi-now technically also a Bokuto-as ‘the one who got away.’ After making a too-quick assumption and drunkenly kissing him when they run into each other, Konoha finds himself undergoing an unfortunate series of events that led him to getting in a fistfight with Bokuto.
