“Answer me,” Quackity grit out.
Wilbur’s lip quirked. “Why?” He questioned, leaning closer. “Why do you want to know so badly? It doesn’t matter to you. You don’t give a shit.”
“Because, Wilbur,” Quackity spat, grabbing him by the jaw and yanking him so close their noses were touching, so close that Wilbur forgot how to breathe from the mere proximity. “You are mine. Nobody gets to hurt you except me. Got that?”
Wilbur stayed silent, his words balled up in his throat like a hairball. His eyes flicked down to Quackity’s lips.
“Look at me,” Quackity demanded, tone sharp.
Wilbur couldn’t help but listen, couldn’t help but want for a little bit of comfort after everything, couldn’t help but want something serene, a safe haven, anything to get him away from the gaping hole in his chest where his heart once was.
