Summary
Sent on a mission he feels wholly under qualified for, Umino Iruka is sent to investigate the sudden shortage in quality inksticks under the guise of a cultural exchange. With a potential succession crisis putting a vital village resource at risk, Iruka would be less stressed if his mission didn't involve weekly reports to the jonin who makes it his life mission to rile Iruka up. To make matters worse, instead of blending in as he hoped, he somehow managed to draw attention to himself as a traveling freelance photographer takes an interest on him his first night there.

Inuyasha doesn't understand planetary orbit but he knows what it means to be filled with chaotic energy, especially when he's around Kagome. Too bad he was more focused on her scent than her words when she explained what a retrograde was and how it affects the body. Maybe it's a good thing they have at least three weeks to reflect on their lives and make sense of moving forward, because Mercury's retrograde won't give them a choice.

After years of settling into a comfortable life as a sensei, Iruka is pulled back into the field for an S-rank he has no business being on, utilizing an ability he’s hardly ever trained, with the same mission captain who had overseen his final fuckup in the field years ago. A mission captain who doesn’t seem particularly happy to be working with him again.
Iruka probably wouldn’t be particularly happy about this, either, if he wasn’t focused on just trying to make it home alive.
