With a potential succession crisis putting a vital village resource at risk, Iruka would be less stressed if his mission didn't involve weekly reports to the jonin who makes it his life mission to rile Iruka up. To make matters worse, instead of blending in as he hoped, he somehow managed to draw attention to himself as a traveling freelance photographer takes an interest on him his first night there.

Mastering the art of Fuuinjutsu was the natural path for Iruka. It was the jutsu that the Fourth Hokage used to save his village from the demonic Nine-Tails. Investigating Konoha’s restrictive archives leads him to gain the Tenshigan, allowing him to see the once invisible forgotten ghosts, terrifying spirits, and sadistic demons walking the world and seal them within himself. However, Iruka’s struggle to control these forbidden powers may have cursed himself and his village.

The Will of Fire presents itself in any number of ways. Putting your life on the line for the village, for example. Reaching your full potential as a Shinobi through rigorous study and training is another good one. Annoying the shit out of Genma. Catching that brat that keeps leaving frogs in the ANBU lockers. These are all worthwhile and admirable goals.
OR Some random Chunin is being evaluated for induction into the ANBU black ops despite being wholly unqualified. Hatake Kakashi is responsible for the evaluating, though he's also probably unqualified if we're being totally honest.

He runs a finger along it, confirming that it covers the bottom half of his face and hooks behind his ears (undoubtedly a medical mask), and then turns his head to where Tsunade is watching him with crossed arms. The movement causes a strand of silver hair to fall into his face. “Where the fuck is Kakashi?”
“Funny. If I were anyone else, I would’ve gotten the impression that I was talking to him.”

Lucky for Iruka, who doesn't seem to have this problem, all this is or has ever been between them is just really phenomenal sex. Obviously.
