Dear Journal, June 20, 1943
I can’t believe I made it. This is like, the most exciting thing to ever happen to me. Ever. In my whole life! This is even better than kissing that girl from the beach, what was her name, Maryanne? Oh who cares, I’m a pilot!
If only I could tell Mama. But after all those stupid “Private Snafu” cartoons and, “Watch What You Write!” shit, I don’t even want to try. So, instead, I’m going to write in this journal so I don’t forget all the exciting parts to tell Mama and everyone when I get back. I don’t want to forget a thing!

The Yellow Paladin noticed his best friend’s unusual silence and calmly asked, “Hey man, you okay?” And Lance just grunted before continuing to eat. Hunk stayed quiet for a bit and added, “Is it Galra Ke--”
Lance smacked his hands down onto the table and stood up straight, “Can everyone stop treating Keith like shit?!” And everyone jumped and whipped their heads up at Lance, seeing his quick breathing.

Lance is tired of the team being racist towards Keith for being half-Galra. He snaps at them and goes to comfort Keith who desperately needs to know that he's cared about.
