And no one knows this as well as he does, so he allowed us to use his old nickname “till you get used to me, I suppose…” and we’ve been doing so ever since. Ever since The Merge, ever since our worlds collapsed and united; ever since our Bruce vanished and Vengeance appeared; and Bruce’s Gotham became his; and his world, where he was the only odd figure, became our world of Gods and monsters.
He has accepted it all quite well giving the odds. Adapting however was, as expected, a challenge. So giving his patience and understanding of our situation, we all agreed the least we could do was to help him adapt.
We helped him the best we could, and slowly, he became one of us. Not as a substitute, never as a substitute, but as an entirely new addition to the team, our Vengeance, the odd detective, who hardly eats much, wears sunglasses indoors and draws on the floor to help himself crack a difficult case.
