Summary
When Grado troops attack Castle Renais, Seth takes Eirika and runs. When Valter catches up with them, he does not survive. Yet, for all Eirika is sure she witnessed his murder, somehow Seth returns to her only a week later, asking for the bracelet she bears. She cannot find a good reason to refuse him, but after he leaves once again something about the action seems wrong. She cannot place the feeling, however. Nor does she dwell on it, because from there her war efforts turn south and never come back up.

"It started out small, at first. Little changes that Byleth noticed but didn’t really take note of, recognizing and immediately forgetting when he decided they were of no concern. Strange but not overly-alarming developments that, for some reason, he never connected when they first arose.
Of course, things couldn’t stay small forever. They couldn’t and wouldn’t be forgotten once time had passed and they reached a point that he could no longer ignore them. A point where he realized all the little things were part of one connected whole. Little signs that said that, despite who his father was, he wasn’t really human."
Or, an exploration of the changes Byleth notices in himself after reaching the monastery as his body slowly turns into that of a Nabatean.

The first time Rhea brought him down to the throne, Byleth's breath caught in his throat. There was something about seeing the throne in person that had Byleth almost overcome with emotion. The stone seat, commanding the room from its place at the top of seemingly endless steps. The emotion it brought was choking, in a way, making Byleth's fists clench and his breaths stutter. All he could think was that he needed to go to it, needed to sit in it. And yet, when he moved to do so...something felt off. But Rhea wasn't going to accept no for an answer.

One of the strongest memories Dedue had of the Tragedy of Duscur was the sight of a young teen, blond and ashy, standing over him with arms outstretched and a face mixed with an odd combination of terror and emptiness. Standing there as countless swords bit into his back, nearly killing him, sure to leave scars if the boy were to survive. Scars Dedue wished he bore instead.

But after the Tragedy of Duscur he found himself alone, until the young man he'd met during the incident appeared at his bedside, a new story on his lips.
Nearly a decade later Dimitri found himself ill once again, but lacked the worries he had had following the tragedy, for he knew strong hands and a kind smile would soon find their way to him with stories aplenty, willing to stay with him no matter what.

“I love you,” she said one night, staring at the stars.
“I don’t know how I should be saying this, but...I love you. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but I love you and I wish I could let you know more than just that. You’re always so fancy and formal. Elegant. I’m not like that. So I don’t really know how else I could phrase it, but… I love you. More than just my words could ever show.”
After a long day, Zeke falls asleep while stargazing with Tatiana, leaving the woman alone with her own thoughts. She spends the time thinking about how much she's enjoyed their relationship, and how much she loves him, and how she wishes she could phrase it just right. Eventually, Tatiana realizes Zeke wasn't sleeping as deeply as she thought, and Zeke takes a turn telling her how precious she is, and how much he loves her back.

Summary
Xander's mother hadn't died by the blade of the enemy, nor poison, nor any regular disease. No, she had wasted away, her life drained away by the sword she'd trusted to lead her to victory in numerous battles over the course of her life.
When she died, the sword was set aside, to sit in a storeroom until the time Xander was old enough to wield it. Two decades later it finally reached Xander, and after spending years wielding it in minor skirmishes across Nohr and major battles across the continent during the war with Hoshido, its curse began to show its effects in him as well. He was no stranger to coughing up blood after his battles. But he liked to keep his issue private, which became an issue when Elise came running for him during one of his coughing fits.
(Inspired by an old headcanon I had about Siegfried slowly killing its wielder as a price for its ranged abilites)
