Summary
We all know how a small twist of fate can redesign the way a story is supposed to go. How one small act can reform reality into something almost unrecogniseable.
So what would happen, if through one of these miniscule changes, Merlin never becomes Arthur's manservant? What if these two sides of the same coin, oblivious idiots, are never forced into close proximity to one another? What if, bound by fate, they live parallel lives within the walls of camelot

Arthur falls in love with the physician's apprentice without being made aware of that fact himself. Merlin is just trying to prove the stupid dragon wrong. Gwen was not prepared for any of this, and Morgana is happy to cause chaos. Leon technically did sign up for this, but in his defense, he didn't read the fine print. Gaius is desperately clinging on to the last remains of sanity in Camelot.
Oh, and did I mention that there's a 'mysterious' sorcerer offering Uther unwanted advice? Because that happens too.

Summary
In a land of myth and a time of magic, the destiny of a great king and a free land rests on the shoulders of a young boy.
When Prince Arthur and his manservant Merlin stumble across a young woman alone in the woods, injured. When Arthur requests and audience with the King, Merlin senses a danger surrounding this girl. Summary
Merlin has magic,” Uther’s words hit Merlin like a ton of bricks, the spirit disappearing as if it was never there.
Merlin closes his eyes, letting out the breath he’s been holding. He feels his back hit the door behind him, holding himself up against it. He doesn’t look at Arthur, just waits.
One breath, two breath, three breath. Nothing.
Merlin opens his eyes, looking up, half expecting Arthur to have disappeared to alert the guards. Arthur is staring at him, he is stock skill, breath coming out ragged and uneven. He looks crushed and not just from expelling his father’s spirit but that must also have contributed to it.
“Arthur,” Merlin tries, swallowing when his voice shakes with the anticipation of Arthur’s reaction.
“Is it true?” Arthur asks, his voice quiet but stern, he still holds the horn tightly in his grip by his side, his knuckles white with the force.
“Arthur I-“
“Yes or no, Merlin,” Arthur interrupts, voice suddenly louder in the empty corridor, he looks Merlin in the eye while he nods wordlessly before looking away, “you-you do. You would betray me? You?”

Summary
Merlin didn't remember the accident that had taken his memories; he didn't understand why Gaius had saved his life, or who he was running from, but he did know one thing-- avoid the Albionic court.
So, naturally, his ship is immediately destroyed by Arthur, the despised son of the one man Merlin must avoid being noticed by at all costs.
Fortunately for Merlin, he's not the only one with secrets. Or a past he'd rather not recall.
