“I’d have to disagree with you on that one,” Wriothesley says, gesturing vaguely. “Even if you've managed to lock yourself away all these years, times have changed now. I'm sure that you've managed to find some friends by now.”
Neuvillette folds his arms over his chest, his leg bouncing for a brief moment. “I suppose it depends on your definition of friend.”
“Someone who sees you as Neuvillette. Not the Chief Justice, not the Iudex, just Neuvillette.”
The silence between them lasted for quite a while after those words left Wriothesley’s lips.

As the holidays approach, Neuvillette finds himself perplexed at the change in the tradition that he normally partakes in during this season. A talk with Wriothesley changes everything in more ways than one.

Summary
It was a simple assessment of how the twins worked. It went on for what felt like hours, however, it could have been more than a few minutes. Yet, it made sense to them.
How the Darkness differs from the Light. How the Angel differs from the Devil. How the Graceful differs from the Fallen.
There was once a time that they were both Graceful, once a time where they stood to fight for life. There was once a time in an oh so distant past that both Sammāʾēl and Mīkhāēl used to be on the same side. Now it differs. For Sammāʾēl was now the Fallen, Lucifer. And Mīkhāēl was now the Graceful, Michael. There was once a time that the Fallen fought to die, and a time that the Graceful fought to live.
The battle had concluded, the score was settled and the results were pending. Oh, how the tables have turned, how they had differed over the millennia. It truly was remarkable, How much both the Fallen and the Graceful had changed. In the end, The Fallen - Lucifer - had reigned victorious, he had become God, he was now the Graceful. And in the end, the Graceful - Michael - had lost, he was defeated, he was now the Fallen.
Now it was the Graceful who fought to live.
And it was the Fallen who fought to die.

The Major General has been off, everyone knew, even the young Frenchman. Everyone has their reasons to sad, depressed or upset with themselves. Lafayette was all three, however, for a different reason.
He takes his grief and anger out on himself, his sensitive skin and breaking his young mind, all while thinking he deserves it. It takes his adoptive brothers to convince him otherwise.
