There's nobody Walburga Black hates more than the blood traitor who corrupted Sirius and stole him away from her. Pretending to date James is the perfect scandal, and if Walburga were to send Regulus to Beauxbatons? Well, that would certainly solve the issue.
The only problem is, Regulus doesn't want that scandal solved anymore. And it might just be too late to do anything about it.
