Kasmeer didn't smile, which was fair because Marjory did yell at her, push her against a wall and almost (almost!) physically threatened her last night. Marjory didn't pretend the answering stoic expression was welcomed however. She sighed and turned away again, not wanting her ego bruised further.
"Detective Delaqua," Kasmeer said with a forceful, confident tone. Marjory paused. "I look forward to seeing your work. Let's meet tomorrow, near Shaemoor. Around noon. Does that work with your schedule, Detective?" Marjory was scratching the wood again.
"Yes, Lady Meade. I believe it does," and for a moment, Marjory believed in the possibility that this was all normal.
