Homura is startled to find a pink-haired woman at her shoulder, holding a bundle of blankets.
"I don't- I'm s-s-sure someone needs them more than I," Homura chatters.
The young woman frowns. "You're literally shivering. Are you sure? I've got plenty."
"I-If you insist," Homura says as she accepts the gift.
The girl walks away, and Homura is unsure if it's the blanket or the kindness of strangers that's warming her. It is easier to believe the world is good when one is warm and has seen great kindness themself.

While she doesn't consider herself socially inept, she knows she's no mastermind. How has nothing gone wrong for her, for so long?
She recalls a moment at her father's church when he'd dealt with a difficult parishioner. He'd talked for a few days about how he wasn't sure how he'd been able to console her. She was pretty sure it had his first hint that something was happening to him.
Well, this seemed to be her wake-up call.

Of course, this doesn't convince her. She tries to be more friendly, more accepting, but Kyouko doesn't treat her any differently. She still picks her words with care and leaves the conversation as soon as she can.
