Summary
Nicolò diGenova was a man training to be a priest, his life laid out before him, before he killed a man and ended up in Old Guard Prison, sentenced to 80 years, where the prisoners and guards are waiting to tear him apart. This is his punishment and he is not afraid to face it. This is where he expects to live out the rest of his life in penance. What he isn't expecting is Yusuf "Joe" Al-Kaysani, a fellow prisoner in for grand larceny, and the crashing of their two orbits. As Nicky fights to survive and Joe struggles not to feel anything for the former priest-turned convicted killer, they may find solace and purpose in each other. This is how they fall in love, fight to survive, and try to make a life in the worst of conditions.
