Summary
If you were to ask a five year old Leo Valdez what he wanted to be when he grew up, he would’ve answered with a chipper, “I wanna be part of a band!”
If you had asked ten year old Leo, he’d say something he thought was a little more realistic, like, say, an experimental physicist. His babysitter had let him watch too much of The Big Bang Theory.
If you asked a more mature (well, that’s debatable), maybe slightly depressed fifteen year old Leo the same thing, he’d simply say he wanted to be a mechanic like his mamá.
And if you asked a Leo who had hit the big ol’ quarter century mark what he actually was, he would laugh, and joke about the fact that he had gotten it right the first time around.

“Oh!” Leo exclaimed, out of surprise and also the fact that the robot dog was clawing at his pant leg with the screwdriver in her mouth. He crouched down to pet her. “What are you doing here?” He asked Jason as he scratched behind the robot dog’s ears.
Jason shrugged. “Wanted to see you,” he answered. “Haven’t seen you since lunch.”
The dog pushed him over and crawled into his lap, trying to lick his face. “Huh. Guess I forgot dinner,” he observed through giggles.

Summary
Twelve years ago, the Vinkus rose up and defied the Wizard’s rule. Their rebellion was put down swiftly and violently to serve as an example for the rest of Oz. In the chaos, the king and queen were killed, and their young son vanished, though everyone with a lick of sense presumed he had died as well.
Now, Elphaba Thropp has just defied the Wizard herself, and she’s turned her broom westward, hoping to find the sparks of a new revolution where the last one failed.
