“What’s all this?” Draco says when Potter appears in the foyer, and shoves the offending photo into his chest. “Defeating the Dark Lord wasn’t enough? Are you really so concerned with proving you’re a bloody fucking saint?”
Potter un-crumples the photo and glances at it. “No.”
“Well!” Draco stuffs his hands into his pockets. The thousand cutting things he wanted to say wilt on his tongue. “Fine. I’m staying here tonight.”
A single, saintlike blink. “Okay.”

“Help me,” he begs. “Remember how I won our first Quidditch match? You owe me.”
Malfoy grunts but grabs Harry’s arm and drags him through the crowd. He isn't much of a help, though. He only makes Harry more dizzy.
“Do you know what this does to my image?” he hisses into Harry’s ear. “And I don’t owe you anything for that match.”
“What about my image?” Harry pouts.
“You don't have one to begin with.”Or: The wizarding world is going through a political uprising. The Wizengamot is on the brink of collapse, and Harry thinks Draco Malfoy couldn't care less about it, given how busy he seems—dancing and drinking his way through function after function.
It's not until Draco approaches him that Harry begins to realize just how wrong he was. -

Harry wasn’t completely sure how the whole betting thing had started. Only that when he mentioned it to Hermione, she started going on about ‘socially-acceptable ways of working through childhood tension and trauma’ and ‘people assigned male at birth being unable to talk about their emotions’ and ‘competitiveness as a means of hiding deeper desires.’
When he mentioned it to Ron, who was in the Auror Program with himself and Malfoy, his response was simpler. “He’s a berk,” he always said reasonably, blue eyes wide with wisdom. “Gotta take him down a peg without getting kicked out of the program, right? And you’ve won way more than he has.”
Of course, when he said things like that, Hermione always tended to cough something that sounded a lot like ‘enabler.’ But Ron had never been good at picking up subtle hints, and Harry liked Ron’s opinion better than Hermione’s, so he chose to listen to him and not her.
So yes. He and Draco Malfoy had a bit of a betting thing. But it wasn’t a problem. It was just…a fun way of getting through Auror training without biting each other’s heads off.
