Xichen turns to face him to answer, taking a moment before he finds his words: a Lan submissive should always speak clearly to their master. It's one of the many rules Jin Guangyao's memorized for Lan Xichen.
"Are you well, A-Yao?" he asks, carefully picking each word as he speaks.
The act isn't working thoroughly, it seems. Jin Guangyao smiles, eyes softening, flashing a hint of dimples. "Ah, come here," he crooks a finger. "Come kneel."
Obediently, Xichen sinks to his knees in front of him, and Jin Guangyao leans forward to press a soft kiss to the center of his forehead. "Do you want this, Xichen?" He doesn't think he's misreading him, but stranger things have happened.
