"Would it kill you to walk?" he grumbled as they continued on. Bob chuckled softly and John turned to look at him. "What?"
"Nothing." Bob's mouth was set in a smug little smirk. "I just think it's sweet that you're protecting me. Unnecessary, but sweet."
John felt himself blush and turned back around so Bob couldn't see. "You're powerful as fuck, Bob, but you're still new to this. And don't say I'm sweet."
"What's wrong with being sweet? You called me sweet, once."
"No, I said you were *acting* sweet."
Bob hovered closer, breath tickling John’s ear. ”And how am I acting now?"
John swung his shield against a suspicious-looking crate, hoping a few vicious imps would pop out and interrupt the conversation. No such luck. "Obnoxious."

On what should have been a simple mission, Bob's Sentry powers are activated. John agrees to keep an eye on him. Things do not go as planned.

There was a soft knock on the door. “Come in,” John called out, not bothering to get up.
The door opened slowly, and then Bob shuffled in, dressed in a gray henley and flannel pants. It looked like he had taken a shower, his hair combed back, but still wet, and that this simple act of hygiene had worn him to the bone.
"Can I sleep here?" he asked, voice hoarse. His eyes were red-rimmed, like he had been crying. "I don't want to be alone."

Bob falls asleep in John's bed and traps them both in the Void's shame rooms. Will John be able to get them both out without making things worse?

Valentina had dropped by the Watchtower's living quarters for an unexpected debriefing. John had expected some serious mission by the look on her face, but what his de facto boss had just said instead left him sitting up in confusion.
"Host a Christmas party — excuse me, a *non-denominational* holiday work party." Valentina made finger quotes for emphasis. "It'd be for the employees and their families... and several members of the public who have been generous in their financial support."
Nobody looked thrilled about this, except Alexei.
