Odysseus raised an eyebrow at her. It wasn’t the first time his little sister had taken an interest in his affairs. It probably wouldn’t be the last, either. “Who, Polites and Eurylochus?”
“Yes, them.” Ctimene leaned closer, so close that the wind was almost pushing one of her brown curls into his eye. “Tell me about them.”

Perimedes stopped completely, and Elpenor huffed out a laugh. It wasn’t a serious suggestion, anyway. He didn’t know how that would work. But it was funny to think about, a little toddler or two bumbling about the wooden floors of the ship, and then maybe his home in Ithaca…perhaps with dark skin and especially curly hair, perhaps with his hazel eyes or Perimedes’ deep brown…the mental image of Perimedes bouncing a young child on his hip was maybe overreaching the funny boundary into something horribly, adorably domestic.
‘I- never mind, that was-’
‘Okay.’ Perhaps somehow sensing his accidental genuineness, Perimedes cut him off and leaned closer. ‘…how do we do that?’”
