Chapter Text

(Y/n) opened her eyes groggily, only to quickly shut them again as the sunlight which was peaking through the drawn curtains attacked her blurry vision. She sat up and groaned, bringing closed fists up to her eyes to rub away any remaining exhaustion. She lowered her hands and placed them in her lap as she once again opened her eyes, this time prepared for the sun's bright rays. She looked around the unfamiliar room and momentarily panicked. Where was she? How'd she get here?

The events of last night came back to her and she relaxed. Right, she was in an inn in El Astro, Spain. Here to try out for BC Sol. Okay.

She studied the room more closely and noticed details she was too tired to have picked up on the previous night. The geometric floral carvings on the bedposts of the canopy bed she was currently in. How the curtains matched the duvet, both in color and material. The plush rugs on top of the deep mahogany floors and... the food which was placed on the small wooden table?

Okay, that was definitely not there last night.

(Y/n) crawled out of the pile of blankets she was wrapped in, and swung her legs over the side of the bed, standing up. Her bare feet met the cold wooden floors and a shiver ran up her spine, but she ignored it as she walked over to the table where the food was set out.

The girl's eyes widened in surprise and slight delight.

There, set on the table was a tray with a plate of steaming buttery blueberry pancakes, a glass bottle containing maple syrup and a cup of cold milk. On the top of the tray was a cloth napkin wrapped around silver utensils. Lastly just to ice the cake, there was a single white daisy in a small purple vase on the side of tray.

'It could be poisoned' (Y/n) thought, finding it quite odd that such a nice meal was just laid out for her to enjoy in the morning, but her skeptic thoughts were betrayed by her own stomach which coincidentally chose that moment to growl rather obnoxiously.

"...Fuck it" the young girl muttered as she pulled out one of the two wooden chairs and sat down to enjoy the hardy breakfast. "If I die, then I die"

She didn't die. In fact (Y/n) enjoyed the delicious meal a lot, and was very grateful for whoever made it for her. 'Probably the old Woman' (Y/n) thought as she finished up her meal, wiping her mouth with the cloth napkin.

(Y/n) pushed her chair out and stood up, stretching for the sky as she did so. She looked back down at the table and collected all of the dirty dishes onto the tray and made a mental note to bring it down and help the old woman with any dishes. 'It's the least I can do' she thought. She then moved on to the messy bed, flattening out the sheets, fixing the comforter, and rearranging the pillows. She stepped back to admire her handy work and nodded slightly to herself, pleased with the result.

(Y/n) then went to the corner where she threw her luggage last night and retrieved her backpack, inside of which contained a spare set of clothes and all of her toiletries, such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, her toothbrush and other necessities. She grabbed her bag and made her way to the ensuite bathroom.

The bathroom had a similar color scheme as the bedroom, plush crimson bath rugs were on top of the tile flooring and a matching shower curtain was hung with brown embroidery. She placed her bag on the marble countertop. She pulled out her toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste and brushed her teeth. After putting her things away she walked over to the bathtub and turned on the shower, adjusting the water until it was the right temperature. Mildly scolding.

She stripped out of her dirty clothes and stepped into the hot water. She stood their for a couple of minutes, letting the water and steam just engulf her. She slowly made her way through her normal routine, taking her time, using these moments to mentally prepare herself for the obstacles she was to face later today. 'It'll be fine' she thought to herself repeating the words in her head as she carried on.

After she was done with her shower, she grabbed one of the many towels that were folded neatly in a small cupboard in the corner of the bathroom, and wrapped it around herself. She then proceeded to look at her reflection in the large bathroom mirror, leaning in slightly.

"It'll be fine. Everything will be fine. I'm a pretty good blader, I can do it." She spoke slowly, hoping the words would sink in.

She moved back to her backpack and pulled out her spare set of clothes, A white lacy dress which came up right above her knees, and a pair of stretchy black tights. She threw on a blue denim jacket and brown ankle boots before putting everything away and walking out of the bathroom.

With one last look around the room, she grabbed her luggage and balanced the tray full of dirty dishes in one arm before walking out and descending down the steps back into the main lobby. The Old woman was sitting on the formal sofa in front of the crackling fireplace, sipping on a cup of tea and reading a book. As soon as (Y/n) reached the bottom of the stairs, the old woman looked up from her book and met the young girls eyes, deep purple meeting (E/c) once again.

"Ahh you're up dearie, just in the nick of time too, the bus is leaving soon" the old woman said excitedly, getting up off the sofa and taking the tray from (Y/n) setting it on the coffee table behind her.

"Umm the bus to where?" The girl asked curiously

"Why to BC Sol's main facilities of course." The woman replied as if it was obvious

(Y/n) let out a sharp breath. How did this woman know of her ambitions? She could have sworn she hadn't told anyone but the cab driver from last night about wanting to try out for BC Sol.

"Ma'am how do you know I want to go to BC Sol? Actually, I have a few questions! Did you leave the food in my room? And what is with that picture in the hallway? Why are all my friend's Bey's spirits in it?" (Y/n) asked, demanding answers.

"Oh so many questions and such little time. Quite frustrating, isn't it?" The old woman mused, "But alas, as much as I would love to cure your curiosity, our time is running short, and you still have to do something for me."

(Y/n) blinked, remembering her promise from last night in return for the old woman's hospitality. She was beginning to regret her decision.

"What do you want me to do?" The girl asked cautiously, gripping her shoulder bag in one hand, and tightening her hold on her carry on with the other, preparing herself to make a run for it if the need arises.

"Not so much what I want you to do, but more so what I want you to wear my dear"

"Huh?"

The old woman smiled and pulled out a short golden chained necklace. A medium sized pendent of a key hung from the chain, a strange engraving of twisting lines with a star in the middle decorated the top of the charm. The woman took (Y/n)'s hand and placed the necklace in it before closing her fingers around it.

(Y/n) brought the necklace closer to her eyes to inspect it. Even in the dim lit room, it sparkled and gleamed. Upon closer inspection (y/n) was able to deduce that the star in the middle of the engraved lines was made of precious stones, a diamond in the middle, and blood red rubies surrounding it.

"Um what?" The girl asked dumbly, confusion evident in her voice

"Well dearie, you can't go back on your word now, a deals a deal. Do you need help putting it on?" the woman asked innocently

"You're... giving this to me?"

"Well of course I'm giving it to you, I want you to wear it."

"Why?"

The woman laughed. "I have the strangest feeling you're going to need it one day, my dear."

"Ma'am, this is beautiful, it really is, but I cannot take this, it's yours. And it looks quite expensive" (Y/n) tried to argue

"And now it is yours." the woman said fondly, taking the necklace from (Y/n)'s hand and walking behind her to put it on for her.

(Y/n) looked down at her collarbone, where the necklace's pendent now rested, and could not help but admire it. It was truly gorgeous. "Why have you been so nice to me?" the girl asked, looking up at the woman.

A smile made it's way onto the Old Woman's face as she looked at the necklace and then back at the girl wearing it. She was about to say something when a loud ding came from the great grandfather clock, signifying that it was now noon. "Oh my!" the old woman exclaimed, "You're going to be late"

"Late?"

"Haven't you been paying attention?" The old woman scolded grabbing (Y/n)'s hand and pulling her down the long hallway from the previous night "The bus!"

"Right, the bus..." (Y/n) mumbled, as she caught sight of the strange painting with all of her friends bey's once again. A shiver ran down her spine as she looked at the masked black eyes in the sky of the portrait, getting an eerie feeling they were looking back at her. Not only looking at her, but through her

'preposterous' she thought, shaking her head, but the uneasiness lingered nonetheless.

(Y/n) and the old woman had finally made their way to the end of the hall to the old mahogany door which led outside back into the city. "You must promise me one thing," The old woman said whilst opening the heavy door with ease

"Yes?" (Y/n) asked, somehow finding the courage to look straight into her orchid eyes.

"You must never take off that necklace, at least not anytime in the near future, do you understand me?" The woman said so seriously it unsettled (Y/n)

The girl nodded slowly and with that the woman gestured outside, encouraging (Y/n) to step out "Good luck dearie"

(Y/n) did as she was told and stepped outside, however she quickly turned around to say her farewells and thank the strange old lady for everything, only to be met with a shut door.

"Thank you?!" (Y/n) half shouted awkwardly at the closed door

That's when she noticed the paper in her hand 'How the hell...?' she thought as she brought the piece of paper up to her eyes to examine. It was a bus ticket.

"When did...? How did she..? There is no way..'" she mumbled to herself as she began walking back up the small streets and onto the main pathways. She kept the ticket close to her eyes, continuing to read the information on it as she strolled, however her eyes widened as she read when the bus would be arriving.

'That's in five fucking minutes!' she yelled at herself inside her head, and began sprinting. Her body took over automatically, and she somehow, by God's grace, ended up at a bus stop right as the bus was pulling up.

' I don't know how the hell I did that' she thought to herself, panting hard as she climbed the steps of the bus and handed her ticket to the driver. The driver nodded and gestured to the back of the bus signaling her to take a seat. 'and honestly I don't really care' she finished her thought as she fell into a random empty seat. The bus was quite packed, so she ended up having to sit next to somebody, but she didn't mind. Her thoughts drifted to everything that had led her to this point, but she was snapped out of her day dream by the bus coming to a screeching halt, and the whooshing sound of the bus doors opening,

"BC Sol?" the bus driver asked turning around. Everyone looked around curiously, wondering who would be getting off at the famous beyclub's facilities. (Y/n) got up hesitantly and walked down the aisle feeling all eyes on her and hearing hushed whispers from the other passengers on the bus. She stepped down out of the bus, and turned around watching the doors close and the bus drive away.

(Y/n) finally turned towards BC Sol's main facilities and looked up in awe. A cluster of buildings made up the premise, arranged in a circle with what she assumed to be a large courtyard at the center. She walked forward on the dirt path towards the main gates, and could see that there was no one there to greet her at the doors, granted nobody has any prior knowledge of her arrival, but not even security guarded the front. When she stood right in front of the gates she was able to look up and see a crest as well as the words "El Sol" underneath the plaque.

"Hmmm" (Y/n) mused with a smile, seeing the big sun emblem with an 'S' in the middle, her thoughts unconsciously drifting back to a certain blond beyblading popstar who also associated himself with the sun. "Wonder how he's doing? I should write to him, it's been too long"

"That is, if he even still remembers me" (Y/n) chuckled to herself as she steps through the gates and looks around the courtyard, seeing the beautiful landscaping and the multitude of different flora decorating the outside area. The middle of the courtyard had a stadium with a gazebo type roof covering it, offering some type of protection for harsher weather. 'Of course' (Y/n) thought with a roll of her eyes and a small grin. She then looked around at all the buildings surrounding her, a feeling of slight panic overwhelming her. Where was she supposed to go? Who was in charge?

She took a deep breath and made her way towards the building which seemed to be centered, feeling as though it looked the most 'official'

"It's worth a shot" (Y/n) sighed as she pushed open the grand double doors and stepped inside a great hall. "Hello?"

She walked further inside and looked around before calling out again

"Hello?"

"Um can I help you miss?"

(Y/n) turned around towards the voice and was met with a tall young man in a plain blue suit, short clean dark hair, and a pair of square glasses framing his dark eyes. (Y/n) let out a breath of relief. Finally another human being.

"Um yes please" the girl started meekly, looking up at the man, "Can you please take me to whoever is in charge of the beyclub? I'm here to tryout."

The man looked down at the shorter woman and blinked, her words taking a moment to sink in before he straightened up and gave her a reassuring polite smile.

"Well in that case you will want to speak to Miss Kuroda" the man said as he turned around and began walking down the hall and up towards a flight of stairs. (Y/n) scampered after him, abandoning her luggage in the hall, deciding to come back for it later. The walk was short and filled with a tense silence. Or maybe (Y/n) was just tense? Probably the latter. She didn't want to admit it but she was quite nervous, and each step added to the knot in her stomach. What if they don't want her? What if they laugh at her? What if they don't even let her tryout? What if they do let her tryout and she totally tanks? What if-

"Ah here we are" the man said turning around and facing (Y/n). They had stopped in front of a closed door with a small sign mounted to the wall on it's left. The words "Kristina Kuroda" printed on. Below that in a smaller font the words "Manager/Owner" also engraved the black sign in gold letters.

He knocked on the door and a quite muffled "Come in" could be heard. He opened the door and stepped in but made no notion for (Y/n) to follow so she waited outside on the side, out of sight.

"Hello Diego, how are you today?" (Y/n) heard a soft feminine voice ask

"I am doing very well, and how are you Miss Kuroda, Mr. Vasquez?" (Y/n) heard the man who had escorted her here answer

"Diego, I've told you, call me Kris." The same feminine voice scolded playfully

"Yes please, drop the formalities" A different man's voice was heard this time. The sound smooth and formal.

"Of Course Kris" (Y/n) heard Diego say "Someone is here who wishes to speak to you"

"Really? Who?"

"A young lady"

"Please send her in"

A second later the door opened once more, and Diego stepped out. He held the door open for (Y/n) and gestured for her to go inside. (Y/n) gave the man a farewell smile before stepping inside the room, hearing a soft click of the door closing behind her.

(Y/n) was met with the sight of a pretty young woman with long pink hair and shining blue eyes sitting behind a large wooden desk. Beside her stood a handsome young man with wavy brown hair, tan skin, and warm caramel eyes with a tablet in hand. They both stared at her curiously as she stepped through the doors and took a couple of steps forward, not saying a word, waiting for her to speak first.

(Y/n) gathered every bit of courage and nerves she had left as she spoke out, wanting to make a good first impression. She took a deep breath and looked at the two people in front of her, squaring her shoulders and raising her chin slightly.

"Hello, my name is (Y/n) (L/n), and I am here to try out to join BC Sol"

Notes:

Gahhhhh this is so damn long for absolutely no reason. Over 3000 words of complete utter nonsense.

Okay, so while I was writing I realized that I fucked up. El Astro is the name of BC Sol's headquarters, but I was under the impression that it was the name of the city. I now know that it is not, and that I was wrong (Like I usually am). However, the city is never given an official name (At least I don't think so, let me know if I'm wrong) so I think I'm just going to continue to call it El Astro, and I'm changing the name of the Headquarters to El Sol. Is that okay?

Fun fact: El Astro means "the star" and El Sol means "the sun" in spanish

The symbol on top of the pendent (Y/n) was given is actually quite meaningful. All I'm going to say is that it's called The Wheel of Hecate. I did a lot of research and put a lot of thought into that necklace. The entire piece of jewelry, from the stones down to the shape of the pendent is chalked full of symbolism that may or may not come in handy later on in the story *wink wink*. Look it up if you want to know more, it's actually really interesting. I'm a sucker for symbolism and foreshadowing and it is something I really enjoy when I'm reading, so hopefully I'm doing it right, lemme know

Let me know your thoughts on the chapter. They don't have to be nice, just honest lol.
