A Blader's Journey

Chapter 6: Chapter 5

Chapter Text

"Hello, my name is (Y/n) (L/n), and I am here to try out to join BC Sol"

The room was filled with an unbearable silence after she said those words. (Y/n) felt her heart drop, her hands become sweaty and clammy, her vision go blurry, and bile rise up in her throat with every second that passed in that deadly silence. And after what felt like an eternity, but in actuality could not have been more than a few seconds the man with the brown hair spoke.

"Well I'm sorry to inform you, but our annual tryouts concluded over a month ago, you are a little too late. We are unfortunately not accepting any new bladers at this time." he spoke quite sternly, his pretty brown eyes staring straight at the new girl in front of him.

(Y/n) opened her mouth to protest, but before she could get a word out, the other person, the girl with the pink hair, turned to the boy next to her and spoke up.
"Now hold on just a minute, Trad, let's not be hasty." the girl turned back to face (Y/n), and she gave the other girl a warm smile. "My name is Kristina Kuroda, however you can call me Kris, I am the owner of BC Sol"

(Y/n) gave Kris a polite smile in greeting

"This is my very good friend Trad Vasquez," Kris continues, looking at the boy standing next to her, "He is our very talented Bey trainer"

(Y/n) looked to meet Trad's eyes, also giving him a polite smile, one he did not return, however he did nod his head in acknowledgement at her.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both," (Y/n) started, going to introduce herself again, "as I said before, I'm (Y/n) (L/n)."

"(Y/n) (L/n)?" Kris asked confusedly before her face lit up in recognition. "Oh yes, I know about you! You're ranked with some of the top bladers in Japan! You competed in the last national tournament, right?"

"Uh, yeah." (Y/n) said sheepishly, bringing her hand up to rub the back of her neck. "I was in the last tournament."

"Ah yes, I remember now, (Y/n) (L/n), you made it all the way to the quarter finals." Trad said looking up from his tablet, sounding almost impressed, but not quite there yet. "You lost to Alexander Shakadera."

(Y/n) grit her teeth and nodded, remembering the crushing bitter defeat after Trad had brought it up so casually.

"However, from what I remember, you gave him a run for his money," Kris piped up encouragingly, "that was an extremely close match."

"But a loss is still a loss"

"Trad!"

"What? I'm not wrong, am I?"

"No, he's right" (Y/n) sighed out, watching Kris's expression turn to one of surprise, and Trad's morph into slight smugness

"Well nonetheless, you made it into the top eight, with four of the spots being claimed by the supreme four," Kris continued "that's quite the feat, don't you think Trad?"

"I suppose..."

"Does that mean...?" (Y/n) trailed off looking between Kris and Trad her eyes widening slightly when Kris gave her a bright smile

"Yes! We would love to have you try out for BC Sol! I believe you have a lot to contribute to our team."

"Oh thank you so much!" (Y/n) exclaimed excitedly "I promise you will not regret this."

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Trad spoke up with a slight smirk as he was tapping on his tablet, "We still have to see how you fare against some members from our top team. If you can't beat them, then we really have no use for you."

"Trad!"

"What? I'm right!"

(Y/n) couldn't help but let out a giggle at Kris and Trad's arguing, It reminded her of the banters she would have with her friends. "Bring it on, I'll take whatever you throw at me."

"Confidence?" Trad mused still tapping away on his tablet, "Necessary for a blader, but it can also be their greatest undoing."

"You think that's going to be the case with me?" (Y/n) asked him, raising her brows.

He looked up from his tablet, meeting her eyes momentarily, before shifting his gaze back to the screen with a smirk "I guess we'll have to wait and see."

"I suppose we will."

"Hmm? hold on a moment," Kris spoke, interrupting the snarky exchange between Trad and (Y/n). The other two looked to the manager in question as she continued to speak, looking at the new girl, "I also recall seeing your name in a few smaller, more local individual tournaments in America quite recently?" The owner asked confused at the conflicting countries.

"Oh yeah, that." (Y/n) said looking down at the floor and ringing her hands behind her back, fidgeting with them slightly. "I'm actually American, I was in Japan for some time due to my parents' jobs, and that is when I competed in the Japanese national tournament. Not soon after, I decided to go back to America to attend a school I had gotten into." (Y/n) explained looking up. "I'm taking a break from my studies for a while, I took classes over the summer so I'm scheduled to graduate early, however by taking the next two semesters off, I'd still be graduating college on time with the rest of the students in my year."

Kris and Trad nodded in understanding hearing her short story. "Oh wow, that is quite impressive," Kris spoke "I was just a little confused, thank you for explaining that to us."

(Y/n) nodded her head as well letting Kris know that it was no problem until she heard a small cough. She looked up to the source of the sound, Trad, and his honey brown eyes which were full of amusement met hers. "Well, let's get started, shall we?"

**********************

(Y/n) followed Trad out of the building and through the courtyard. In the distance (Y/n) could see another building, quite far away from the main campus. She followed him silently, not knowing how to start a conversation with such an uptight person.

"Those were the BC Sol clubhouse and dorms" Trad said, referring to the area they were just in as they stepped out of the courtyard. "Up ahead is our state of the art training center" he continued, pointing to the large building they were approaching. The exterior was different than that of the clubhouse, it was tan, with red roofing rather than white with blue.

'Probably to distinguish it from the rest of the campus' (Y/n) thought

"You will compete in three 2 point matches with three different bladers from the A team" Trad continued to explain, "We will watch and make our decision from what we observe during those battles."

"Alright." (y/n) said with a nod as they approached the training center. Trad opened the door for her and she gave him a smile in gratitude as she stepped through the doors, the young boy following after her. "Sounds simple enough."

The room they had just stepped into was an absolutely massive gymnasium. There were high red bleachers around the perimeter of the room. The middle however was full of over a dozen, full sized stadiums, almost all currently in use by a variety of different bladers. Everyone was absorbed in their own battles, so nobody noticed the pair enter. Trad blew a whistle and slowly but surely all the chatter from around the room quieted down.

"Gather around, everybody! I have an announcement to make." Trad spoke loudly so that everyone could hear him. The bladers did as they were told and came together in a lazy semi circle around their bey trainer, waiting for what he had to say next. "We have a potential new recruit," He stated taking a step to the side so that everyone could see the new blader. Nobody had seemed to realize the presence of the stranger until that moment.

(Y/n) felt all eyes on her as the members of BC Sol studied her up and down. She grew a bit intimidated and shy under the gaze of so many and looked down at her shoes, muttering a quite "Hi," in greeting.

"This is (Y/n) (L/n), she will be trying out to join BC Sol today." Trad introduced the girl instead of having her do it herself, picking up on her timidness with the arrival of the large crowd.

"Another rookie?" (Y/n) heard someone groan, her eyes shooting up and studying the crowd, looking for the person who was complaining. Her (E/c) eyes met angry beady ones, which belonged to quite a large young man, his blond hair cut short in a neat buzzcut, and green visors around his forehead. "We don't need anyone else, we're doing just fine."

Trad narrowed his eyes at the blader. "I wouldn't be talking if I were you Stan. Your last match, if I remember correctly, went quite poorly. You may be able to learn a thing or two from her."

The rest of the crowd bursted out into a fit of giggles after hearing Trad's quip remark, and (Y/n) couldn't help but giggle as well, but her smile quickly wore off when she saw a pair of angry brown eyes glaring at her. She tried to match his gaze, but failed to be able to do so, and ended up being the first to look away. Trad waited for the laughter to die down before he continued talking. "She will be competing for a position on the team by battling some of you. There will be 3 matches, and I will be picking her opponents.... where's Valt?" Trad interrupted himself when he failed to see the energetic boy in the group in front of him. (Y/n) looked up, her heart racing at the mention of her old friend, searching the crowd for his spiky blue hair, but she too failed to see him.

"Uh yeah, Silas got mad about something and stormed out. Valt and Rantaro went after him yelling. Y'know, the usual." A girl in sporty attire spoke up. She had short blue hair, one side being clipped back with a couple of burets, her pretty purple eyes shining with amusement as she explained why some of her teammates were missing.

"Of course," Trad sighed closing his eyes, sounding disappointed but not surprised. "Well in that case, Rickson please step forward, you will be facing (Y/n) first."

A tall young man with light brown skin and purple hair stepped forward. He walked up to (Y/n) and held out his hand. "Hello, I am Rickson Clay, I will be your first and possibly last opponent, depending on how you fare against me."

(Y/n) stared at his hand for a moment, before she brought hers out as well to shake his politely. She looked up to face the taller man, and gave him a smile. "(Y/n) (L/n), I'm sorry Rickson, but I highly doubt you're going to be my last opponent"

Rickson let a small grin slip out at the girl's snarky remark. "Let's test that theory."

(Y/n) and Rickson got into position on opposite sides of a stadium. Another boy, more on the pudgy side, with rosy cheeks stepped forward to act as referee. Trad stood close by on the sidelines, and everyone else stood behind him, excitedly waiting what the newcomer was capable of.

(Y/n) reached into the pocket of her denim jacket and pulled out her bey. Ephemeral Hellicate. The dark bey contrasted so much with the sweet appearance of its owner, it was almost enough to give a person whiplash. The bey's main colors were an icy dark slate gray with black accents throughout. The energy ring was as dark as night, with a ring of what seemed to be gems on the perimeter, making them gleam even more against the black background. Although, most of the bey had an extremely dark color scheme, the three of the largest blades on the fusion wheal, were an iridescent transparent, almost as though they were made of glass. The rest of the blades matched with the dark gray and black. A silver crescent moon decorated the face bolt.

(Y/n) showed her bey to her opponent without a word, smirking slightly as he grew a bit nervous. "Meet Ephemeral Hellicate." She finally said and then clicked her bey into her launcher, the familiar sound making her smile grow even more.

Rickson grunted in anger before he clicked his own bey to his launcher as well, getting into position. (Y/n) smirked as she also got into position, kneeling down on one knee, her other leg outstretched to the side, while she was leaning far to the right. Her arms were outstretched in front of her, hovering over the stadium, her grip tight and steady on the launcher.

"Ready? Set..." the boy acting as referee called, bringing his arm forward before raising it, commencing for the battle to begin.

"Three." Rickson grunted out.

"Two." (Y/n) said, her brows furrowing in concentration.

"One!" they both yelled in unison before launching their beys into the stadium,"Let it rip!"

Hellicate landed with a couple of bounces before beginning to zip around the perimeter of the stadium. The battle had begun.

"You know what to do!" (Y/n) said encouragingly to her bey "Let's show them what we're made of!"

And with those words, Hellicate took the center remarkably quickly, continuing to spin gracefully without losing any momentum.

"Hit it hard!" Rickson commanded, his bey following his orders, rushed towards the center to attack. The two beys made a hard first contact, however Hellicate was not pushed back at all. Rickson's bey continued a relentless furry of attacks, but Hellicate stood its ground, as if nothing was happening.

"What...?" Rickson gasped as all of his bey's attacks were being brushed off as though they were nothing. The crowd of spectators erupted in hushed shocked confused whispers, wondering what was going on, and how Hellicate was still spinning so fast. (Y/n) smirked as Rickson's bey began to slow down and eventually came to a complete stop, whilst Hellicate continued to spin with ridiculous speed in the center.

"Ephemeral Hellicate wins with a survivor finish!" The referee called raising his right arm in (Y/n)'s direction. "One point to (Y/n) (L/n)!"

The room went silent as everyone watched both blader collect their beys. (Y/n) was smiling down at hers, whilst Rickson was gripping his hard, looking at it with concern.

"That was a total fluke!"

(Y/n) turned her head to the club, searching for the person who made the rude comment. Her eyes met the glaring ones of Stan's.

"You think so?" She asked sarcastically, her eyes narrowing at the boy.

"You got lucky, nothing more than that."

Just when she was about to retort, Trad cut in sternly. "That's Enough. Ivan start the second battle."

(Y/n) held her tongue and forced herself to revert her attention back to the stadium. She was shocked to see that Rickson was already in position, kneeling down. She quickly followed his example and the second battle began. Both bladers launched their beys, however the same scenario played out more or less. Hellicate took the center and pushed off all incoming attacks until the other bey ran out of juice.

"Ephemeral Hellicate gains one more point with a survivor finish!" The referee called raising his arm in (Y/n)'s direction once again. "(Y/n) (L/n) wins the match with a score of two to nil"

'Yes!' (Y/n) mentally celebrated in her head, but on the outside kept her composure as she retrieved her bey. She looked up to see that Rickson had zoned out, looking at his shoes. (Y/n) also collected his bey and walked over to him, whilst everyone stared in shock at the young girl's actions.

Rickson looked up surprised when he saw (Y/n) standing right in front of him, her arm out with her hand open, Rickson's bey sitting in the palm. "Here." she said gently, "That was a good game, we should battle again soon."

Rickson looked at the girl's outstretched hand in shock before a smile crawled its way onto his face. He took his bey back and her hand dropped back to her side. He looked down to meet the girl's eyes and nodded happily at her. Her smile grew even more after he did that.

"Okay, next," Trad announced, breaking Rickson's and (Y/n)'s eye contact with each other, as they both turned back to face the bey trainer. "(Y/n) you will be battling Shasa."

The same girl in the sporty attire who had alerted Trad of Valt's whereabouts stepped forward. She gave (Y/n) a friendly grin, one that (Y/n) happily returned.

"That last battle was awesome!" Shasa exclaimed excitedly. "You're really good!"

"Um thanks," (Y/n) coughed sheepishly, her cheeks heating up slightly at the praise

"Just between you and me, I really hope you get in." Shasa said lowly so Trad wouldn't hear. She walked over to one side of the stadium, and (Y/n) followed standing on the other. "BC Sol totally needs more girls, I can count us all on one hand." She said while rolling her eyes. (Y/n) let out a laugh at that.

"That doesn't mean I'm going to go easy on you though." Shasa smirked while clicking her bey into her launcher, squatting down and getting into position.

"Wouldn't want you to." (Y/n) replied, also getting down and getting ready to launch

Ivan brought his arm out and up again, signaling the start of the second match. "Read? Set..."

"Three" (Y/n) muttered, her grip tightening on the launcher

"Two" Shasa continued

"One!" Both girls yelled together pulling the chords on their launchers, sending their beys flying into the stadium. "Let it rip!"

Hellicate circled around the stadium, waiting for it's opponent to make a move. Shasa's bey made its way for the center and claimed it.

"Hah!" Shasa taunted, smiling down at the stadium "The center's all mine, what are you gonna do now...?" Her smile faltered and her voice trailed off as she looked up to see that (Y/n) didn't look concerned in the slightest. In fact she was smirking.

"Hellicate doesn't just have stamina," (Y/n) explained, swinging her arm out and leaning forward "We can also go on the offensive. Go Hellicate!"

And with that command, the black bey changed it's trajectory, bouncing off the stadium wall, gaining speed as a result, and moved quickly towards the center, where it's opponent was spinning fast. Hellicate hit Shasa's bey hard, sending it back before it came back to try and hold onto the center.

"Again!" (Y/n) commanded,Hellicate began to deliver a serious barrage of attacks.

"Grrr" Shasa growled out between grit teeth, worry evident in her voice, "Hang in there Gaianon!"

"End this Hellicate!" And with that command Hellicate went in for a final blow, bursting Gaianon and taking the center. The act caused Shasa as well as the rest of the onlooking beyclub to gasp in shock.

"Hellicate gains two points with a burst finish," Ivan, the referee announced, bring an arm out to (Y/n)'s direction. "(Y/n) wins the match with a score of two to zero."

Both female bladers went to pick up their respective beys before facing each other, a smile on both of their faces.

"That was a lot of fun" (Y/n) exclaimed stretching out her hand for Shasa to shake

Shasa took the other girl's hand and gave it a firm shake "Totally. We have to go another round sometime?"

"Most definitely" (Y/n) replied with a smile "Um I'm sorry, I never got your name...? " (Y/n) asked awkwardly, really wanting to befriend the girl in front of her.

Shasa gave a bright smile with her eyes closed. "I'm Shasa Guten"

"(Y/n) (L/n)"

Both girls continued smiling at each other until a voice cut in causing the two to turn and glare at the speaker.

"That's enough girl talk!" Stan growled, stepping in front of Shasa. "My turn! Let's see how you do against a real professional."

"Stan..." Trad warned, but the blader wasn't listening, his launcher already out and him down ready to go.

"You know what?" (Y/n) shot back, fed up with his rudeness towards her since she arrived. She walked to her side of the stadium crouching down, reading herself to launch. "I'm getting real sick and tired of your attitude."

"Can't take it?" He mocked a sarcastic smile finding its way onto his face

"Let's see how smug you are after I crush you. Hellicate's going to end this so quickly, some might even call it...magic" (Y/n) shot back.

Stan snarled, and put his hand on the chord of his launcher, reading himself to go, (Y/n) doing the same.

"Ughh... Trad...?" Ivan looked over to his bey trainer in question, since he did not announce that Stan would be (Y/n)'s third and final opponent. Trad closed his eyes and sighed with a nod, confirming for Ivan to begin the match. There was no way to stop this now anyways, both of them were too riled up.

"Ready? Set..."

"Three!" Everybody yelled, feeling the tension in the room.

"Two!" Stan growled, along with everyone else.

"One!" (Y/n) hissed.

"Let it rip!" both bladers yelled, sending their beys flying. However what Stan, nor many others but Trad saw, was how (Y/n) tilted her launcher a bit more at an angle at the last moment before pulling the chord.

"Hmm," he hummed in curiosity, eyes narrowing at the girl's split second decision.

Hellicate landed in the stadium hard, however that didn't seem the phase it even one bit. In fact it was spinning faster now than it had been for the other two matches. Stan's bey was coming at Hellicate fast and hard, but Hellicate dodged, just barely missing the powerful attack.

"Grrr!" Stan let out frustrated.

"That all you got?" (Y/n) mocked with a smirk.

"Full power!" Stan yelled at his bey, whilst the bey rushed towards Hellicate once more with alarming speed. "Don't hold back!"

The two beys made a hard and loud first contact, and Hellicate was sent backwards. Stan grinned as he saw he had pushed back the other bey and then told his to take the center.

"Not bad" (Y/n) mused with a smile, bringing one hand up to rest on her hip. "But not good enough!" She yelled her other hand swiping in front of her. Hellicate rushed around the stadium a few times, gaining speed and momentum, before it sharply changed it's trajectory, heading straight for the center where Stan's bey was spinning strongly. The two bey's crashed together hard, only the second contact, but that was enough for Hellicate to burst it's opponent. Stan's bey bursted into three pieces as he looked in shock, his mouth open slightly.

The room was deadly quiet, the only sound that could be heard was Hellicate, still spinning fast, taking laps around the stadium.

Trad coughed getting everyone's attention, he raised his eyebrows, giving Ivan a pointed look.

"Oh umm yeah" Ivan stumbled lifting his hand in (Y/n)'s direction. "Hellicate wins with a burst finish. (Y/n) wins the match with a score of two to zero"

Stan grumbled as he took the parts of his bey, and stormed out of the room, but not before giving (y/n) a look so cold, it sent shivers down her spine. He slammed the door behind him hard, the fact that he as upset clearly evident to everybody in the room.

Trad rolled his eyes as he walked over to (Y/n)

"I don't think he likes me very much." (Y/n) mumbled, pocketing her bey and looking down at her feet.

"Stan has a temper. You beat him, and you beat him bad. His ego is probably bruised, but it might just do him some good." Trad said, slightly annoyed at the other blader's behavior.

(Y/n) simply nodded still looking at her feet.

"Anyways," Trad started, changing the subject, "You did well today, however I still need to talk some things over with Kris. Please wait here for us to return."
(Y/n) nodded, and with that, Trad walked away.

"Don't worry about Stan" Shasa said, coming over to stand next to (Y/n). "He's been real prissy ever since Django left. They were really close, and he blames him leaving on all the new blood."

(Y/n) nodded again, still not feeling completely reassured.

"Yeah!" another voice spoke up. (Y/n) looked down slightly to see two other people. Kids of about 14. One looked to be a miniature version of Shasa and the other was a boy with tan skin, and bright green eyes in a hat. "Don't sweat it, he'll warm up to you," the boy spoke, "Eventually."

"Well that's good to know." (Y/n) answered with a smile looking down at the two younger kids "I guess."

"This is Kitt Lopez" Shasa said, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder. "And this is my little sister Honey" she continued, placing her other hand on the little girl's shoulder. "They are part of BC Sol's junior blader development program. They aren't quite on the team yet, but there here to learn as much as they can."

"It's really nice to meet you guys" (Y/n) said grinning. "I'm (Y/n) (L/n)"

(Y/n) (L/n)?" Kitt mumbled under his breath, before looking at the new female blader, emerald eyes shining with curiosity "I've heard that name somewhere before."

Just when (Y/n) opened her mouth to respond, she heard footsteps approaching. She turned around to see that Trad and Kris were walking towards them. She held her breath in anticipation as she waited for them to reach her. Sure, she had won all her matches, but maybe they just didn't want her. Nothing was a guarantee. Her heart rate sped up as the two approached, waiting for either of them to speak.

"Congratulations!" Kris spoke first, her voice very cheery, "Welcome to BC Sol!"

(Y/n) let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and smiled at Kris "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I promise you won't regret this"

"I know that I won't." She said sweetly.

"Yes, well you performed slightly above adequate, so we came to the conclusion to give you a chance." Trad spoke with a straight face.

"Trad!"

His lip quirked up ever so slightly.

"(Y/n) would you mind sharing a room with Shasa and Honey?" Kris asked, sighing at Trad's antics.

"No I wouldn't mind at all, as long as they'll have me...?" (Y/n) trailed off looking at the two sisters next to her.

They both smiled at her brightly. "Are you kidding? Of course you can stay with us!" Shasa said cheerfully, "It'll be so much fun!"

"Oh man! this is going to be so cool!" Honey gushed excitedly. "You're like the sister I never had!"

Honey chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of her neck when Shasa gave her a look "Hehehe"

(Y/n) giggled when Shasa and Honey pulled her away, each grabbing an arm and dragging her forward. "Let's go right now!"

Trad and Kris watched the three girls walk away giggling, a smile prevalent on both of their faces.

"Hmmm" Trad thought out loud.

"What?" Kris asked .

"Say, (Y/n) competed in the Japanese national tournament, right?" Trad wondered.

"Yeah..?" Kris answered cautiously.

"You don't think that..." He started.

"...That she knows Rantaro and Valt?" Kris finished his thought.

They both looked up again, watching the three girls' retreating figures.

"She actually might..." Kris mused out loud. How had she not realized that sooner?

"Oh boy," Trad sighed while Kris laughed at his reaction. "I have a bad feeling about this."

**********************

"Come on, man!" Valt said loudly, trying to reason with the stubborn male in front of him.

"Not happening." Silas growled out, his arms crossing in front of his chest.

"Why not?"

"Because."

"Because...?"

"Because I fucking said so!"

Valt groaned in frustration. This is the 5th time they were having this conversation this week.

"Dude, come on, be reasonable." Rantaro said with raised arms, trying to be civilized.

"I don't remember asking for your damn opinion, Honcho." Silas replied, mockingly saying Rantaro's nickname.

"What the hell did you just call me?"

"You heard me!"

"Guys." Valt tried to cut in before things got messy, but his efforts were in vain.

"I don't think I like your tone." Rantaro growled, taking a step toward the greenette.

"Yeah? What are you going to do about it?" Silas shot back, also taking a step forward.

"Guys" Valt tried again, stepping between his two friends and pushing them away from each other. "We're not doing this again."

Silas and Rantaro were about to retort, but were cut off by a certain junior blader.

"Hey!"

They all turned their heads to the direction of the sound. Kitt ran up to the three other males, slightly winded from the journey. "I've been looking all over for you guys," he panted out, bending over, his hands on his knees. "Trad is pissed you guys left training without checking with anybody."

"Does it look like I care?" Silas asked sarcastically, causing the younger boy to roll his eyes.

"I would." Kitt said with a smirk. "You know he can make you run as many laps as he wants around grounds, right?"

Silas cursed under his breath, but didn't argue. The kid had a point.

Valt and Rantaro snickered at the Satomb owner's misfortune before Kitt turned to both of them with raised eyebrows and a smug look.

"You guys too."

Their smiles quickly fell and now it was Silas's turn to laugh.

"Anyways that's not why I'm here." the boy with the hat explained as the four of them began to make their way back to the training center. "A new blader came by to try out to join BC Sol."

"Really?" Valt asked excitedly, his eyes shining at the prospect of battling a new opponent

"Yup, and they made the team," Kitt continued to explain."They beat Rickson, Shasa, and Stan without breaking a sweat."

Silas narrowed his eyes at that. Okay, now the kid had his attention.

"Woah" Rantaro gasped in shock and awe.

"Yeah, it was so cool!" Kitt continued to gush "You guys should have been there."

Silas scoffed, but the other three blader opted to ignore him. "What's his name?" Rantaro asked curiously, shifting his lollipop from one side of his mouth to the other.

"Her."

"What?"

"What's her name," Kitt corrected. "She's a girl."

"Oh" Rantaro said, a bit shocked at the news of a new female blader. "Is she pretty?" He asked without thinking, before realizing what he said and covering his face with his hands, his cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"Oh shit..wait.. uhhh..I didn't mean.." he rambled, trying to explain himself, but the deed had been done, and now he was growing redder by the second.

"Yeah, she's really pretty..." Kitt mumbled under his breath, his cheeks going pink as well. He wasn't going to lie, she was.

An awkward silence befell the group of boys after that. Silas finally decided to speak up, not being able to take it anymore. "So? What's her name?" He asked as they made it back to the courtyard.

"Oh yeah!" Kitt blurted out, suddenly forgetting about the awkward moment they all just had, "Her name is (Y/n) (L/n)."

Rantaro and Valt's eyes widened after the junior blader had said the name of their newest teammate. They both quickly turned to each other before simultaneously yelling.

"(Y/N)?!?!?!"
