Chapter Text
Ranboo met Wilbur’s gaze.
“When will they be back”. He asked plainly.
“[Name] doesn’t want to see you.” Wilbur said softly, a hint of malice in his voice. “They’re busy.”
“Where’s Phil then?”
“With [Name]”
“When will they be back..?”
“Not sure.”
The two stared at each other, distrust sparking off the two of them. Ranboo knew how Wilbur had left at a young age, leaving [Name] to blame herself for it. He knew the emotional impact that he had left on them.
And how much Wilbur cared about [Name], even though he was the younger sibling. Behind them, Fundy cleared his throat.
“If you two are... done with whatever you are doing. Ranboo I need to speak with you.”
Ranboo turned to the shorter man, who’s ears poked out from under his hat. He nodded and mumbled something to Wilbur.

Ranboo sat down in the chair, Fundy’s gaze cast apon his face.
“Where were you?”
“I don’t know.”
“Did you enderwalk?”
“Yes.”
“For how long?”
“I don’t know.”
“What caused it?”
“I don’t know!” Ranboo was getting irritated by his pestering.
“I don’t know what caused it or why I was walking for so long, all I know is that [Name] is worried and Wilbur hates me more than ever!” Tears of frustration and stress burned in his eyes. Fundy was staring at him wide eyed, surprised by his outburst.
“Ranboo I think we should put you in Pandora’s Vault.. just to be safe. Who knows what might happen the next time you enderwalk.”
“No! I’m not going to hurt anyone and I have so many reasons why I won’t!” He began digging through his bag for his memory book, trying to prove that he won’t hurt anybody. A noise at the door turned Ranboo’s attention and he gasped out the word like it was the only air he had.
“[Name]!”
You almost burst into tears on the spot. You had been searching the forest for Ranboo for two days straight and the release of stress caused by it lifted like a huge wall and all of your cooped up emotions came rushing out.
First it was joy. To see him alive and well. You stumbled towards him, a disbelieving smile on your face. You hugged him tight and tucked away tears began to stream down your face. Ranboo swore and pushed you away, he was patting at his shoulder where you cried on him with a rag, trying to soak up the moisture before more of it touched his skin. You watched, and there came the next emotion. Guilt. Guilt for leaving him there, guilt for crying on him and hurting him. You felt a hand on your shoulder and you turned, tears still streaming down your face.
“Dad..” you said softly. Philza was staring at Ranboo, his wings twitching.
“Ranboo.” He said, his voice loud and clear. “Where... where were you?” You nodded, you wanted to know that too. Ranboo looked at you again, wincing.
“Well.. uhm. Well I am not exactly sure...?” He said. Anger. Anger at yourself and at Ranboo and at Wilbur. You stepped towards Ranboo, practically trembling.
“YOU WERE GONE FOR TWO FUCKING DAYS!” You shouted, tears streaming down your face again. “I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD, WILBUR THOUGHT YOU WERE A GOD DAMN TRAITOR!”
Your next words died in your throat as Ranboo grabbed your hand tightly. With his other hand he pulled you into a tight hug, maneuvering oddly to keep your face away from his clothing and skin.
“I know. I know and I’m sorry..” he said softly. “I was as scared as you were but I’m here now.” His voice so close to your ear. So insanely calm in this moment. Sent a pounding in your chest and a light flush to your cheeks. You pulled away from the hug, face burning.
Behind you, Philza exhaled softly.
“I’ll.. leave you two to it I suppose. Let’s go Fundy. I need to speak with your father.”

You went to confront Wilbur. After spending an hour with Ranboo, he had eventually told you what he said and you were pissed. You banged on his door hard enough to bruise your knuckles.
“Wilbur let me in!” You barked. You knocked again and almost punched him in the face as the door swung open.
“Oh. [Name], what’s up.”
“I’m sure you can guess!”
“Oh. It’s about that Enderman.”
“Yes it’s about Ranboo!” You took a moment to breath. “Let’s talk about this inside.” Wilbur’s face twitched oddly but he nodded.
Inside, the house was cozy, a small couch on one side of the wall and bookcases filled to the brim on other walls. Behind the door you were sure was the rest of the house. You sat down on a chair facing the couch and your brother sat on the couch. A thick silence folded over the both of you.
“Why did you tell Ranboo that I didn’t want to see him?” You said at last, your voice was soft. Genuine hurt could be felt in it.
“I was protecting you!”
“You’re five years younger than me why are you protecting me!?”
“I’ve seen shit okay [Name]?
I’ve seen enough to know that Enderman cannot be trusted.”
“I’ve known him long enough to know that he can be so shut up!”
You were both standing up and shouting at each other now, both of you seething with frustration. A soft “ahem” got your attention, you whipped around to see Philza staring at you in the doorway.
“What the fuck happened here?” He said, wings twitching with irritation. You and Wilbur were silent. Staring at your father.
“Not now dad-“ Wilbur huffed. Philza cut him off,
“Yes now. What happened?”

“...wow.” Philza said, clearly unimpressed by his son’s actions. Don’t get him wrong, he loves Wilbur dearly but what he did was shitty. Wilbur had already stormed out by the end of your explanation and you were... upset to say the least. You bid Philza goodbye and left.
It was evening when you got home. You collapsed onto your couch and sighed heavily. You curled up and closed your eyes, worn out by today’s events.

You awoke the next day with a blanked draped over you, and a snoring Ranboo on the comfy chair near the couch. You smiled softly before closing your eyes again, a faint flush on your cheeks.
