Summary
Carlos wasn't entirely sure what to expect when his Tia Isabel said she wanted to apologize. It had been nearly twelve years since he came out and she disowned him. But now, when he was finally happy and at ease, she was coming back to Texas for a visit (when did she even move?), and she wanted to apologize in person. He didn't know what to make of it.
Meanwhile, Victor didn't understand what had his mom so stressed about this trip. She had a great relationship with her sister and his husband, with whom they'd be staying. He understood that she could be stressed about all their friends coming along, but she was the one who invited them. Besides, it seemed like she was mostly anxious about seeing their cousin Carlos, someone the three Salazar kids didn't even know existed until barely a month ago.
No one knew what to expect from this family reunion and extended Texas trip, but they all knew one thing: a month was a long time for things to go wrong, and stakes were already higher than anyone really understood. It seemed the only person who could shed any light was Isabel, but she was reluctant to say anything before she made it right.
