Summary
“So your name is Spider?” Tommy said as they both sat across from each other eating god knows what from the canteen. Tommy had snuck it to him since Quaritch didn’t think he should deserve food after his last outburst.
“Mhm.”
“That your real name?”
“It’s real to me,” he said simply.
“How’d you get it?” Tommy asked. He asked a lot of questions.
“I can climb trees fast. I like climbing. Jake called me a Spider, so my name is Spider,” he explained simply.
“Did he tell you what they were?” Spider nodded and Tommy smiled, “You gotta show me your skills when you get out of here.”
“I’ll teach to climb, we can see all of the forest from the top,” Spider said softly, “maybe you can even get higher than Lo’ak, although even Tuk can get higher than him.”
“Yeah? I’m gonna tell him that,” Tommy said.
“Tell him, we all know it's true,” Spider said and his face fell, “I miss them. I want to see them again.”
“You will, you hear me? I’ll make sure of it.”
Spider wanted to believe him, so badly, but everything hurt and he felt so weak. How much longer could he do this?
