Chapter Text

The ghosts in the hotel were baffled by the news when Jungkook, Yoongi, and Seokjin told them. They had gone into the office all together after Taemin had gone up to his room to give them a chance to explain the situation to everyone, and it went as you’d expect.

“I don’t want to leave.” Namjoon murmured, eyeing his cockroach sadly. “I don’t… I don’t want to leave you all.”

“I know.” Seokjin agreed. “I don’t want to leave either, but it’s something we have to come to terms with.”

“But there’s still a chance we all come back to life!” Hoseok perked up, as optimistic as possible. “We could all become human again!”

The ghosts looked uncomfortable, as if they didn’t want to believe it. As if they didn’t want to get their hopes up.

Jimin and Taehyung were quiet, more quiet than Jungkook had ever seen them in his life. They looked fearful, and were even more clingy than usual.

“How do I know if I move on, that Taehyungie will be there?” Jimin asked, voice so quiet that it was as if he had said nothing at all.

“You’re tied to my energy.” Seokjin explained again. “I think that wherever I end up in whatever afterlife there is, you will be there as well. All of you.”

“I don’t want to go.” Taehyung expressed. “I’m a ghost, I’m not ready to move on. That’s why I’m here.”

“You’re not here because you have regrets from your human life.” Seokjin said. “You’re here because you’re holding onto your afterlife.”

“We can still come back to life.” Hoseok tried again. “We are so focused on the afterlife, but what if we come back?”

“I agree with Hoseok hyung.” Jungkook said, causing Yoongi to jump slightly.

Yoongi had been kind of zoning out as the ghosts discussed, not able to hear anything himself and really just being there for moral support.

“There’s still a chance! I think you’ll all come back!”

Jungkook was hanging on to that thread of hope. He was gripping on it, even as the threads tugged away and fell apart. He was holding onto the tiniest, the barest thread.

But he was hanging on.

Hoseok smiled at him warmly.

“Wherever we end up, it has to happen.” Seokjin said, but it sounded as if he was trying to convince himself. “We can’t be here anymore…”

“Nothing bad has happened yet!” Jimin argued. “We have two necromancers! We’re fine!”

“It could happen any second.” Seokjin’s voice was sad. “It could happen to one of us earlier than the others. Jimin-ah… What would you do if Taehyungie suddenly turned vengeful?”

“I… I could help him.”

“You can’t.” Jungkook shook his head. “Once they turn that way… The only thing that can be done is an exorcism.”

He’d done some research himself ever since meeting with Wooyoung. It wasn’t completely pleasant.

Jimin was silent, sad, disturbed.

“I don’t want to turn vengeful.” Taehyung sighed. “I don’t want to hurt anyone.”

Namjoon sadly stroked Sinatra's back. “We really have to go, don’t we…”

Jungkook realized then what his reality was. The ghosts were prepared to leave. Seokjin may be closer to the living than the dead, but none of the others were.

Seokjin wasn’t going to stay if they left. Seokjin would go where they go.

Jungkook closed his eyes and took a deep breath, taking it all in.

In that moment, he was surrounded by family, and it was perhaps the last time he would be.

Taehyung and Jimin were holding hands while sitting together. Hoseok was tapping his fingers against his leg nervously. Namjoon was playing with Sinatra.

Seokjin…. Seokjin was sitting in his chair, watching over the ghosts he had taken care of for so many years.

Yoongi was there, though. Yoongi wouldn’t leave him.

Jungkook held onto Yoongi’s hand, and Yoongi gave him a comforting squeeze.

Jungkook looked around, taking it all in. He knew he was in the office for the last time that it would be like this. It was the last ghost team meeting. It was most likely the last time they would all be together.

Jungkook thought of the future, without them, and his heart felt hollow. He thought back on all the months they’d spent together, of all the times they’d given him happiness.

Jungkook never had friends before.

Jungkook never had a family.

Jungkook was surrounded by them for the last time, in a dingy hotel office.

Jungkook felt loved, he felt lost, he felt broken, but he wasn’t alone yet.

He smiled sadly as he willed himself not to cry.

“Can I say something?”

Seokjin and Yoongi both nodded.

Jungkook looked around at everyone, taking in all of their faces.

“Thank you for being my best friends.” He said. “Thank you for giving me a home and taking care of me. Thank you for loving me all of this time. You all know I never had any of that before I came here… So thank you for taking care of me all of this time. I’m not sure if this will be the last time we are all together like this, so I just want you all to know that I love you so much and if I don’t see you again in this life, I hope there’s a way for us to meet again in another one.”

Yoongi sniffled beside him, fighting back his own tears despite not being able to see the ghosts or hear them like Jungkook could.

The ghosts themselves looked stricken.

“We love you, Jungkook.” Hoseok said softly. “We are so glad you came here.”

“Thank you for being my friend.” Taehyung said, eyes sad. “I’m glad I got to be someone’s hyung for even a little bit. I was always the youngest… It was nice to have you around, to feel like there was someone to care for.”

“I’m going to miss living through you.” Jimin said, joking around a little bit. “I’m going to miss you a lot.”

“Thank you for joining our family.” Namjoon told him. “You… And Yoongi hyung are both part of our family.”

A tear slid down Jungkook’s cheek as he nodded, taking in their final words to him.

“I…” Yoongi started to say before looking at Jungkook as if to check and make sure he wasn’t speaking over anyone.

Jungkook nodded at him so he continued.

“I’ve been at this hotel for a few years now.” Yoongi said. “I know I haven’t met any of you face to face, but it still feels like we know each other. Thanks for taking care of me all of this time. If you do move on, I promise to take good care of the hotel for you all. Thank you for everything, I hope there’s a chance we get to meet face to face someday.”

“He’s such a good guy, Jungkookie.” Hoseok said, smiling sadly. “I’m happy knowing he’ll be there for you even if we aren’t.”

“He is, isn’t he?” Jungkook grinned through his tears before looking over at Yoongi who was also emotional. “He’s a really good guy.”

Seokjin still hadn’t spoken since Jungkook’s final goodbye and he looked deep in thought. His voice even almost made Jungkook jump a bit.

“Do you all mind if I talk to Jungkook and Yoongi privately for a moment?” Seokjin asked. “We’ll do everything tomorrow so there’s still more time to say goodbye.”

The others looked like they had more to say, but they respected Seokjin enough to clear out. They also knew this final moment would be important for the three of them.

“I’ll take out my phone so Yoongi can hear me.” Seokjin said, grabbing it from the desk.

Yoongi, seeing the levitating phone, knew what it meant and took out his own.

“Thank you for giving all of us a new meaning.” Seokjin said, looking between the two of them. “We don’t want to move on, but without your encouragement we’d probably be stuck here like this forever. I really… I hope we can come back to life, I just can’t see that for any of us. I think it’s time we move on.”

He sighed, deeply. Jungkook knew Seokjin didn’t want to move on, but they both knew it was necessary.

“Yoongi, I’m leaving the hotel to you of course. You can choose someone to promote to be the assistant manager if you want. My personal choice would be Hayoon. She’s a great worker and I can see how much this place means to her.”

Yoongi nodded. “Of course. I’ll probably wait a bit before deciding on that… but I would choose her, too. Seokjin hyung… You are not only a great boss, but you are also a great friend. I know we didn’t have a chance to properly talk until recently, but I’ve always admired you a lot and so do the others. You truly care about this hotel and all of the staff and I hope I can continue on in a way that makes you proud.”

“Oh, assistant manager Yoongi, you flatter me.” Seokjin tried to joke. “You already make me proud, that’s why I feel so confident leaving you here with the hotel.”

It was quiet, between the three of them. None of them knew what else to say, but they didn’t want the conversation to end, either.

It could be the last time they all talked.

“I had a great time with you all.” Seokjin said.

It was weird, the entire day so far. Jungkook rarely saw Seokjin so serious for such a long period of time.

“I really… It was a great time.”

Seokjin’s words rang out in Jungkook’s head and he wanted to cry but instead there was just a numbness that engulfed him. He had come to terms with it, possibly. He knew by then that the inevitable was most likely saying goodbye to Seokjin and the others. Ghosts coming back to life? Jungkook felt almost foolish for believing it could happen before.

Seokjin was being real about it and none of them wanted to get their hopes up. Jungkook knew. He knew, but he still wasn’t sure when the reality would truly hit him.

Seokjin was still there in front of Jungkook. He was still there, but Jungkook couldn’t touch him despite how much he longed to.

He wished he could take Seokjin into his arms and hold him tight. He wanted to tell Seokjin he loved him, but that wasn’t something they did.

Yet, Jungkook thought that if he were to never see Seokjin again he’d like him to know he loved him regardless.

It was almost weird, to find embarrassment in loving someone even when they are most likely to be gone soon.

“Hyung…” Jungkook swallowed hard. “You’re the older brother I never had. I really… I really love you and hope you find happiness wherever you go. I hope you're able to see your own brother again.”

Seokjin let out a weak laugh. “Oh, that’s enough from you. Alright, alright. Get out of here, the both of you. This was great and all, but I have a few things to take care of.”

Jungkook knew he needed alone time.

“Okay, hyung.” Jungkook replied. “Okay.”

Jungkook and Yoongi both took in the office as it was for a moment before heading towards the door and leaving Seokjin in his normal spot.

“Jungkook-ah.” Seokjin said as Jungkook was about to leave. He turned around and looked at Seokjin who looked sad.

“Jungkook-ah.” Seokjin said again. “I love you too. I’m glad I was able to be your older brother for a little bit. You’ll always be my family.”

Numb.

Jungkook doesn’t remember much after that, but Yoongi and him went up to his hotel room and cuddled in his bed while they both laid there silently. Occasionally, Yoongi would press small kisses to Jungkook’s face, and Jungkook would bury himself in closer to Yoongi, as close as he could go.

Yoongi was someone he wouldn’t lose. He could touch Yoongi. He could hold Yoongi.

Jungkook looked up at him with tear filled eyes. “Do you really think this is it?”

“I’m sorry.” Yoongi replied instead of an answer.

Jungkook knew he didn’t want to admit it either, and didn't want to say goodbye.

There was still a chance.

Jungkook’s mind kept repeating it as much as he tried to fight it off because he couldn’t get his hopes up.

“You know,” Yoongi said after a little while. “I know things won’t be the same, but what is helping me is knowing we’ll still have each other. I know I have you, and Jungkook, please know that you’ll always have me. This… This is hard, and it’s not going to be easy. I just want you to know that I’m here for you whenever you need a hug or words of support. I’ll stand by your side and we’ll do this together.”

Jungkook tightened his hold around Yoongi.

“You’re not just my boyfriend.” Yoongi continued. “You’re my best friend as well. We’re a team, you and I. You’re so, so special to me and I see you everyday and think about how strong you are. I’m so proud of you for everything you’ve accomplished, even before you left your hometown. You were alone for so long but also so brave to endure something like that. I’m so thankful you’re in my life now. You inspire me every single day.”

Jungkook let himself feel.

Warmth. Comfort.

It was what he needed more than anything.

“I think we met when we needed each other most.” Jungkook said, resting his chin against Yoongi’s chest and looking up at him. They were completely intertwined, just one person for that moment.

“I’m so glad we met, hyung.”

Yoongi leaned in and kissed him gently while rubbing small circles in his back. Jungkook felt cared for and calm despite everything else going on in his life.

Jungkook felt loved.

****

He knew when he woke up the next day that there was no going back. Time wouldn’t stop just because he wanted it to. Nothing was forever. Jungkook had limited time left with his loved ones and yet when he woke up that morning, it still felt like any other day. It was weird, for nothing else in the world to be changed, for it to feel so normal, but Jungkook knew. The dread was there sitting in him despite the sun shining into his room and despite his beautiful boyfriend curled up against him.

It would have been the perfect day. It should have been the perfect day.

“Good morning.” Yoongi grumbled from beside him. “Are you alright?”

Jungkook was shocked that Yoongi managed to get up so early, but he was probably feeling similarly to Jungkook

“Hey.” Jungkook said.

There wasn’t much else to say.

“It’s really nice out.”

Yoongi hummed in agreement, but his eyes never left Jungkook’s face. He was worried.

Jungkook didn’t think there was reason to worry.

He didn’t feel anything at all.

Jungkook picked up his phone from where it was under his pillow and saw many texts from Seokjin through the night. Seokjin barely texted him at night even though Jungkook knew he didn’t sleep, so he wondered if he was just trying to leave some last minute mark on Jungkook’s life. Something to remember him by.

Seokjin: its the middle of the night and normally i'd do ghostly things like float around and look lost

Seokjin: HOWEVER

Seokjin: i'm feeling a little sentimental.

Seokjin: i hope you know that even though i'll be moving on, i'll always be with you. you can't truly get rid of me. i hope you know that. i'm extremely stubborn.

Seokjin: ah this is crazy

Seokjin: if i were alive i probably wouldn't be able to sleep anyway

Seokjin: i'm going to miss this hotel.

Jungkook stared at the texts blankly. Emptiness was a feeling he was starting to get used to.

“Jungkook.” Yoongi’s voice shook him out of it.

Yoongi wiped away tears off Jungkook’s cheek that he hadn’t even known were there. He was in such a state that whether he cried or not it didn't matter because he couldn’t feel anything anyway.

It was a beautiful day outside, but Jungkook felt nothing at all.

Life moved on. Life moved on when Jungkook wished it would just freeze for even a moment.

“We should get up.” He said blandly.

“Okay.” Yoongi agreed.

What else was there to do? Jungkook had to face the circumstances.

Jungkook had to say goodbye.

The hotel moved as it always did. Taehyung greeted them in the elevator and tried to keep Jungkook’s spirits up, but Jungkook could tell that it was just as hard for him.

Hoseok was sitting on his cart in the lobby looking disturbed.

Jimin was standing by the door which stood still.

Namjoon and Sinatra sat at the hotel desk together. Namjoon only muttered good morning.

“We should go see Seokjin hyung.” Yoongi said. “We should figure out how this is going to start.”

Jungkook felt like he was in a glob of jello and he wasn’t quite sure what to do about it but he had to move on.

Taemin, San, and Wooyoung were already in the office when they got there.

Seokjin was spinning in his chair, but stopped himself when Jungkook walked in.

“Glad you're here, they've been trying to talk to me but can't actually tell where I'm sitting.” Seokjin laughed, but it didn't sound like his normal one.

“Are you ready?” Taemin asked, not hearing Seokjin speak.

Seokjin looked over at Jungkook.

Neither of them were ready.

“Yes.” They both said, anyway.

Taemin nodded as he looked between Yoongi and Jungkook.

“The main thing we need to figure out, is where Seokjin-ssi was last alive.”

Jungkook looked over to Seokjin who seemed to be a bit nervous from the question.

“Is that absolutely necessary?” Seokjin asked, twiddling his fingers.

Taemin nodded after Jungkook relayed the thought. “Yes. That's where I’d be able to pick up your energy best.”

“Oh.” Seokjin said, eyes flicking between Taemin and Jungkook.

“Hyung, what’s wrong?” Jungkook asked.

“It’s just. I'm kind of embarrassed?”

Jungkook stared. Embarrassed?

“Hyung, everyone knows you died doing yoga. It’s okay.”

Yoongi snorted a bit beside Jungkook, so Jungkook kicked his ankle lightly.

“Sorry.” Yoongi said.

“Yes. You see, that's not what I'm embarrassed about.” Seokjin chuckled.

Yoongi sighed in disbelief as Jungkook translated. “Hyung, we kind of have to do this…”

Seokjin threw his hands in the air. “Okay, okay! So, I didn’t just give Jungkook that room because the numbers were spooky! I gave him that room because it was mine when I died!”

“What?” Jungkook breathed out. “I'm sorry, what?”

Seokjin stared at him with sad eyes. “Your room… It hasn’t been occupied since I stayed there. I kept it clean for all those years because it felt sentimental. I even kept a uniform there because it made me feel like I belonged. I'm sorry for not telling you, Jungkook.”

Jungkook took a deep breath, and squeezed Yoongi’s hand for support before telling everyone what Seokjin said.

“Oh, hyung…” Yoongi murmured.

“I'm not even sure why I gave you the room. Probably because of the whole ‘seeing myself in you’ thing.” Seokjin laughed. “It's silly, isn't it?”

Jungkook shook his head. “It's not silly. I'm glad I gave you some life back.”

Seokjin nodded, but stared at the floor.

“So, we have to go to Jungkook’s room then?” Wooyoung asked. “I'm sooo excited to see how you've decorated!”

“Now is not the time.” San sighed, nudging Wooyoung.

“Yes, we do have to go up. Is that fine?” Taemin asked.

“Hyung?” Jungkook looked at Seokjin. “Is it okay?”

“Yeah.” Seokjin said. “It's fine. Is it okay if everyone comes as well?”

“It's fine.” Taemin agreed. “It works best that way so we can make sure the other ghosts cross over with you.”

Jungkook hated that everyone automatically assumed they would leave him. Jungkook hated that even though there was a possibility of them staying, that everyone just accepted that they wouldn't.

He hated it.

But most of all, he hated that he was holding onto hope.

They gathered all of the others and they traveled up to Jungkook’s room.

The ghosts were very quiet, unusually so. Taehyung and Jimin were glued to each other like always, but neither of them had any funny remarks to share.

Hoseok, who was normally smiles and laughter seemed lost in thought and dreary.

Namjoon held onto Sinatra and was hardly able to look at anyone else.

It was weird. It wasn’t right.

Jungkook thought of all the times he'd hung out with Jimin and Taehyung on his bed.

He wished he'd known when it had been the last time.

He thought of when he used to sit with Hoseok on his cart and chat.

He thought of hanging out with Namjoon and Sinatra at the desk.

He remembered all of the times they'd been together.

They gathered in Jungkook’s room as he thought back on those times.

Those times they'd all been in his room together, as well, not knowing that they would find themselves there in their final moments.

“Oh, I see.” Taemin nodded. “I can still feel Seokjin-ssi’s energy here. It's faint, but I feel it. Where did he die?”

“He fell off the balcony.” Jungkook whispered.

It was quiet in the room despite the amount of people and ghosts inside.

It was quiet.

It was haunting.

Jungkook opened the balcony door, and Seokjin followed beside him.

Jungkook looked over the ledge. “I'm so sorry for how you died, hyung.”

“It allowed me to meet you and everyone else.” Seokjin said. “Don't be sorry for something you can't change.”

Jungkook shivered a bit in the cold.

“I'm sorry to do this, but Jungkook-ssi, you'll have to let go of Yoongi-ssi’s hand.” Taemin instructed.

Jungkook felt a bit panicked, not wanting to let go of the one solid thing he had left in his life, but Yoongi gave him a final squeeze.

“It's okay, Jungkook. I'll be right here.”

Jungkook wanted nothing more than to run into his arms and hide there.

He had to remain strong. He had to do it.

“Alright, I need the two of you to touch.” Taemin instructed. “I know it kind of doesn't work, but just make it so you’re touching.”

“Alright…” Jungkook muttered as he reached out a shaky hand towards Seokjin.

Seokjin gave him a soft smile as he reached out towards Jungkook as well, pausing a bit before letting his hand go through Jungkook’s own.

Of course they weren’t actually touching, but Jungkook could pretend.

He thought Seokjin wanted to pretend as well.

They did their best to intertwine their fingers even though neither of them could feel anything.

Jungkook was cold on the balcony, but his heart felt even colder.

“That’s good.” Taemin nodded as everyone else looked on behind him silently. “I'm going to channel Seokjin's living energy. San-ah, could you help please?”

San nodded and walked up beside Taemin, holding his hand as the two of them absorbed the energy in the room.

Jungkook looked at Seokjin with teary eyes. “Hyung, if this is it….”

Seokjin shook his head. “Don’t.”

Before Jungkook could say anything else, he felt a sudden jolt inside of him. It was like a burst, like when you get a static shock after touching something.

“Don’t let go!” Taemin demanded.

Jungkook took a deep breath, but he felt like his body was starting to burn up.

“Do you feel that?” Jungkook said to Seokjin who seemed stunned.

“Yes…. I do.” Seokjin whispered.

Jungkook felt a squeeze on his hand and looked down with trembling eyes to see that Seokjin’s hand was somewhat more visible than it had ever been.

“Hyung, I can feel you!”

“I can feel you too.” Seokjin could barely get the words out.

“I see you, Seokjin hyung!” Yoongi said from inside the room. “I can kind of see you!”

It was working.

Jungkook took a deep breath and tried to feel the energy even more.

He needed this to work. Seokjin was so close. He was so close.

The energy was overwhelming and it was starting to become painful, but Jungkook couldn't let it up.

“It's fucking powerful.” San groaned out. “Two necromancers…”

“We have to hold on to it.” Taemin said beside him, but he was sweating. “Don’t let go!”

“Jungkook-ah.” Seokjin squeezed his hand again but gave him a small smile. “Jungkook-ah, be well.”

“No, hyung, just hold on!”

“It's fading.” Seokjin whispered. “I can feel it fading.”

They were in a bubble of energy at that point, and couldn't hear anything else going on around them.

“Hyung, you’re right here. I can feel you.”

“It's not going to last. I can feel it dragging me away.”

Jungkook held on to Seokjin as tight as he could.

“But hyung, hyung you can't go. What am I supposed to do without you? Hyung, you can't leave me!”

“You have Yoongi. You have the other employees. I wasn't meant to be there to begin with, but Jungkook-ah you're so strong.”

“I'm not. I'm not strong.”

Seokjin pulled Jungkook in and brought him against his chest in a hug for the first time ever. Jungkook sobbed against him and begged him not to go.

The energy continued to build around them, but Jungkook didn't mistake the way it seemed to cater towards Seokjin.

“Jungkook-ah” Seokjin said again. “Thank you for everything.”

“Hyung!”

Seokjin was starting to fade again, his consciousness flickering.

Jungkook felt silly, for being embarrassed to say it at a moment when it might be his last time to, but either way he whispered , “I love you” right as Seokjin was visible for the last time. Right before the energy disappeared all together with a pop.

Jungkook fell to the floor.

He felt Yoongi’s arms around him but he couldn’t feel anything else.

Seokjin was gone.

He looked behind him and saw that it wasn’t just Seokjin that was gone.

All the others left with him.

Jungkook didn't feel anything at all.

Jungkook felt empty.

****

Jungkook lived life like he was in a bubble. He woke up. He went to work. He went to sleep.

He could pretend he was fine a lot of the time, but there were moments his mind would race and he would just start crying against his will.

Yoongi was an amazing help of course, but he was grieving, too.

The two of them would go out on dates and it would be fine, and then one of them would bring up a funny story about one of the ghosts. Yoongi had a lot of stories from when Jungkook wasn’t there.

It was nice to have each other through it all. It was nice to have at least one person who understood better than anyone else.

Jungkook struggled at work because he would just be sitting there and then start crying.

Seokjin had been right though, because he truly never left Jungkook.

He could still hear his voice. Jungkook would do things, and he could hear Seokjin teasing him in the back of his head.

It was familiar. It kept him somewhat sane that he could still remember Seokjin’s voice.

That didn't make it easy to go around the hotel, though. Jungkook would stare blankly into the lobby and it would feel so wrong to not see Hoseok or Jimin.

It felt so wrong for the elevators to be so peaceful.

And maybe worst of all, after the first week of losing his family, Jungkook had been sitting at the desk when Sinatra crawled over the keyboard.

Jungkook assumed he had moved on with Namjoon and when he saw the cockroach, he proceeded to burst into tears to the point where Minju told him he should probably go up to his room to rest.

It was weird, to have a cockroach of all things be the only thing he had left of the ghosts, but he kept Sinatra close.

He talked to it as if he were talking to Namjoon.

He and Sinatra sat together on Hoseok’s cart at one point and Jungkook just rambled, and rambled about his life until Yoongi came over and sat next to him.

Jungkook found it hard to stay in his room so he stayed with Yoongi. Sometimes he tried to go rest in the middle of the day like his coworkers suggested, but every time he was in there he found himself searching for the smallest bit of Seokjin’s energy.

Or he’d look onto the balcony and remember the last time he saw Seokjin. When he felt Seokjin.

He couldn't be there for very long without feeling like he was suffocating.

The hotel itself was suffocating.

Sometimes Jungkook just walked around and remembered. He took it all in, trying to remember while he could because he knew there would be a day that the memories weren't so clear.

He'd sit in Seokjin’s chair in the office and spin around with a blank expression on his face.

A month passed and Jungkook thought maybe he was healing. It had been awhile since he cried more than once a day. He still couldn't be alone without his mind racing too far, but he thought maybe he was getting better.

Life was starting to feel alright again. Jungkook still felt a bit empty, but life was starting to feel alright.

Jungkook found himself holding on for them. For Seokjin. For Hoseok. For Jimin. For Taehyung. For Namjoon.

For Yoongi.

Yoongi, who accepted Jungkook into his home and made him feel as comfortable as possible despite the fact that he was also grieving.

Yoongi.

Jungkook’s best friend and his amazing boyfriend.

Yoongi, who Jungkook couldn't have done it without.

“We probably should go through the office soon.” Yoongi brought up after a month and a half while they were eating breakfast in his kitchen one morning.

Jungkook looked down at his food. “Probably.”

“There are most likely some extremely old things in there.” Yoongi continued, delicately. “I'm supposed to… I'm supposed to run the hotel, I guess.”

Yoongi still hadn't taken the manager position. He technically was the manager, but he hadn't accepted the role yet. It was as if Seokjin was just on a long vacation, and Yoongi was subbing in for him.

His badge still said Assistant Manager and that's how he introduced himself to guests.

“Yeah we probably should go through it.” Jungkook agreed. “It's going to be really hard.”

“I know.” Yoongi agreed. “But it also…. It's him. It'll be us getting to know a part of him we didn't before. The office was basically his home. It would be fun to see what he had in there.”

Jungkook knew Yoongi was trying to convince himself of it as well. Yoongi was being so careful with Jungkook despite how much he was struggling himself.

Jungkook smiled at him, his lips trembling a bit. “Okay, let's do it.”

****

“Why did he even need this?” Yoongi held up a pikachu lamp that had been stuffed in one of the file cabinets. “Why is it even in there?”

The two of them were sitting on the ground of the office with two large trash bags as they started to go through everything.

Jungkook stared at it and tried to hold back a laugh. “Do you even think he knew what a pikachu was?”

“I barely know what a pikachu is so I’m going to go with absolutely not.”

Jungkook held the ugly lamp in his hands. It barely even looked close enough to an actual pikachu.

“Do you think he thought it was vintage?”

“Do you think one of the others told him it was ugly and he argued that it was a vintage piece owned by his great grandfather that he happened to stumble across and how dare someone insult his family heirloom?” Yoongi suggested with a huge grin.

“Oh, yeah. I bet Namjoon hyung was the one to say it was ugly. Hoseok hyung probably tried to say it was nice, but everyone could tell he was lying.” Jungkook laughed.

“And I bet Taehyung and Jimin hid it in here.” Yoongi looked towards the cabinet.

“That definitely happened.” Jungkook felt giddy just thinking about his friends in such an unserious way.

It felt nice to remember them as the mess they were. The laughs, the teasing.

It felt nice.

“I kind of feel bad throwing it out over this weird scenario we made up in our heads.” Yoongi sighed as he placed it in a trash bag.

“It has to be done…” Jungkook shook his head, sadly. “I'm scared to go through the closet that's in here. What if Seokjin hyung jumps out at me?”

“I think we'd both cry tears of joy.”

“Yeah, probably.” Jungkook mumbled. “Do you think it's his old stuff from when he was here? I wonder what happened to their things after they died.”

“That's actually a good question.” Yoongi nodded and then groaned. “I wish we could just ask them. I keep coming up with questions for them and they aren't here.”

“I know.” Jungkook said.

“It's…. running this hotel is so hard.” Yoongi looked down at his hands. “It's so hard.”

Yoongi hadn't really opened up with the way he had been struggling since Seokjin moved on, and Jungkook suddenly felt bad because he knew it was for his own sake.

He moved closer to Yoongi and kissed the side of his face, letting go of his trash bag to wrap his arms around him.

“I just,” Yoongi continued. “Anytime I had a question I could email him or text him and now I can't. I don't know what to do and I'm so scared of not living up to his expectations of me.”

“Hyung, it's only been a month. You can't expect to be perfect at something when we never had time for him to train you.”

“I think it's just so hard because I'm so used to him being here. I didn't think this would be as hard on me because I never even met him face to face, but I'm starting to realize how much of my life he was part of.”

“You knew him for years.” Jungkook leaned his head against Yoongi’s shoulder. “Of course he was. You were really struggling, too, when you met him. He was your friend even before I came along.”

“He was.” Yoongi agreed. “I don't think I even realized how much… How much I loved him until now.”

Jungkook was quiet. He wasn't sure how to comfort Yoongi when he didn't even know how to comfort himself.

“Seokjin hyung knew you loved him.” Jungkook decided to say, because he knew it was true.

“I wish I got to meet the other ghosts as well.” Yoongi admitted. “I wish…. I wish I was as close to them as you were.”

“You would have loved them so much.” Jungkook smiled, thinking about his friends. “I wish you got to properly meet them, too. The hotel is so empty without them and nobody notices except me.”

“I noticed.” Yoongi said. “I may not have been able to see them… but they made their presence known.”

Jungkook hummed. “This is such a crazy situation. We’re here mourning ghosts. They were already dead.”

“I hope they're all having fun together wherever they are.” Yoongi smiled. “I hope Taehyung and Jimin can actually touch each other now.”

Jungkook snorted. “I have no doubt they'll figure out how to be in love wherever they end up. They're probably annoying everyone in the afterlife right now.”

They sat quietly together for another moment until Jungkook noticed Sinatra scurrying across the floor.

“I do feel really bad that Namjoon hyung doesn't have his friend with him.”

“I wonder why Sinatra didn’t move on with him?” Yoongi asked.

Jungkook shrugged. “No idea. It was probably only ghosts attached to Seokjin hyung. I have no idea what could possibly be tying a cockroach to us.”

Yoongi laughed before stretching out. “Should we continue?”

Jungkook nodded. “Do you want to do the closet? I'll do the rest of the filing cabinets.”

“Sure.” Yoongi said before pressing a kiss to Jungkook's lips as he stood up. “Do you think he has skeletons in there?”

Jungkook stared blankly at him. “Did Seokjin hyung possess you and make you say that? Be honest.”

“Someone had to say it. I'm about to go through a ghost's closet. Come on, Jungkook-ah.”

“You sound just like him.” Jungkook grumbled as he started opening up the cabinets again.

The cabinets were kind of boring which was why Jungkook wanted to do it. He was a bit scared of seeing Seokjin’s personal things. The filing cabinets were mostly safe, they contained information about the hotel for the most part. There were some random things in them that Jungkook wasn't sure what to do with, and he tried his best to imagine why Seokjin would put them in filing cabinets.

“His old clothes are genuinely in here.” Yoongi said as he sorted through things. “I don't think I can bear to get rid of any of this… Jungkook–ah do you need any hanboks?”

Jungkook turned around to give Yoongi a look. “I'm not going to wear Seokjin hyung’s old clothes. They probably haven't even been touched in ages, they might just straight up fall apart.”

“They clearly have not been washed since he died either… Yuck.”

Jungkook shook his head as he continued going through the cabinets until he opened the top one and saw Seokjin’s phone.

“Oh.”

He wasn’t sure if he wanted to touch it, and it was probably dead anyway.

“You alright?” Yoongi asked and came over to see what Jungkook was looking at. “That's his phone.”

“It is.” Jungkook said. “Should I charge it? There's one here…”

“Yeah, I guess.” Yoongi seemed hesitant as well, but Jungkook picked it up and brought it over to the phone charger anyway.

“It might take a minute to turn on.” Jungkook said.

Right after he spoke, however, the phone lit up. Jungkook and Yoongi both held their breaths as the phone slowly came back to life.

“What do you think is even on here?” Jungkook asked. “He barely knew how to use it.”

“Probably not much.” Yoongi agreed.

When the phone loaded, Jungkook's breath caught in his throat when he saw Seokjin’s lock screen.

“Oh.” Yoongi’s voice was a bit strangled.

The lock screen on Seokjin’s phone was a picture of Yoongi and Jungkook at the desk together. Neither of them clearly realized Seokjin had even taken the picture. They both had huge smiles on their faces as they looked at each other.

“His phone background is us.” Jungkook felt tears well up in his eyes. “That's us, hyung.”

“When was this?” Yoongi laughed a little bit as tears fell down his cheeks.

“No idea.” Jungkook’s hands shook as he held the phone. “I didn't even see him take this…”

“I had no idea he knew how to use the camera.” Yoongi sniffled. “This is ridiculous.”

“Should we see what else is on his camera roll? Do you think he stalked us as a hobby?” Jungkook tried to joke, but Yoongi only smiled a little bit.

“He probably did.”

Jungkook unlocked the phone because of course there wasn’t a password.

Jungkook hesitantly clicked on the photos and had to take a deep breath when it opened up to at least a hundred photos.

“What are these?” Yoongi asked. “Are the ghosts in these?”

Jungkook clicked on the first photo which was the one of him and Yoongi. He swiped to the next. It was a selfie with Seokjin, Namjoon, and Sinatra on Namjoon’s head.

“This…. It's a selfie with him, Namjoon hyung, and Sinatra.”

“You can see the ghosts in the photos?” Yoongi asked. “All I can see are the office walls.”

“I was able to see Taehyungie hyung and Jiminie hyung in those youtube videos, so I guess Seokjin hyung realized they'd show up in photos as well.”

Jungkook continued to swipe.

There were various pictures of the ghosts doing dumb activities. All of them were in it. There were occasional spy shots of Yoongi and Jungkook either alone or together.

“When did he take these?” Jungkook thought out loud. “It must have been when he realized he wouldn't be around much longer. Maybe the day before.”

“He did it for you.” Yoongi said. “He knew you'd be able to see them.”

“He's crazy.” Jungkook said as he continued to swipe through the photos. “Why would he do this to me?”

“He did love to torture you.” Yoongi smiled. “I've been missing his annoying texts a lot.”

“He's so annoying.” Jungkook laughed at a picture of Taehyung and Jimin standing on top of the desk after closing and making a heart with their hands together.

“I miss them so much.”

“I know.” Yoongi said. “I miss them, too.”

****

Everytime Jungkook thought things were getting easier for him, something would remind him of one of the ghosts and he'd find himself breaking down again.

Four months had passed since the ghosts left and it was warming up outside as spring started to approach.

Jungkook officially moved in with Yoongi as he couldn't bear to stay in his room any longer.

“We should probably get started on your rooftop garden soon.” Yoongi said at the desk one morning.

“You're right!” Jungkook grinned. “I almost forgot completely about that.”

“It'll be a fun activity for us, I think. You'll get to teach me everything you know.”

Jungkook was extremely excited about that. Things hadn't been very easy for him after the ghosts passed and he was clinging to things to be excited about.

Jungkook often wondered how long someone was supposed to grieve for. He felt like he hadn't been completely happy in ages.

He and Yoongi found a lot of things to be happy about, but neither of them could find it within themselves to feel like things were fully okay.

“I wish the ghost hyungs could be there to help out.” Jungkook sighed.

Sometimes he worried that he brought them up too much, he thought that Yoongi might get tired of hearing about them.

Yoongi never did. Yoongi brought them up probably as much as Jungkook did.

Every single day, Jungkook would go through the pictures that Seokjin left for him. He'd remind himself that they were real and that they were there.

“It's pretty nice out today if you want to go to the store after work.” Yoongi said. “We could look at some seeds if you want.”

Sinatra scuttled onto the computer keyboard, so Jungkook picked him up and placed him on his shoulder like Namjoon used to.

It was a habit he started taking on.

“We need to get soil and planters first.” Jungkook said.

Seokjin left him a lot of money, apparently, and Jungkook decided to put it towards the rooftop garden.

“I might draw out a map of how it should look before we go”

Yoongi smiled at him and nodded. “That's a great idea!”

It felt normal. Life felt normal a lot of time.

It was the funny thing about grief, Jungkook thought.

Life could feel so normal, and he could be so happy, and then out of nowhere it would hit him like a truck.

The reality was that they were gone. They were gone and Jungkook had to live.

Life truly did go on.

“Also I think we should look into giving the hotel a redesign.” Yoongi said.

While they had gone through Seokjin’s office, they found some of the original design plans for the hotel and Yoongi was quite interested in restoring it.

“I'm still pissed off that the guy who owned the hotel before Seokjin hyung absolutely destroyed the entire thing with wallpaper and carpet.”

“How dare he.”

“Yeah!” Yoongi agreed. “I already fixed the dining room but there's so much to do… So much carpet to tear up…”

Jungkook had heard Yoongi rant about the wallpaper and carpet many times, but he was glad Yoongi was finding things to occupy his time with as well.

Seokjin hadn’t just left Jungkook money. He also left a lot to Yoongi.

“It might be an idea to close down for renovations at some point. We've been marketed as haunted for so long, and… Well, we need something new. I'd love to restore the place, because a vintage looking hotel might actually attract a lot of people.”

“You should build it in that game you've been playing.” Jungkook said.

“The sims? Good idea….” Yoongi seemed to consider this. “Yeah, maybe before summer starts up and it gets busy again we should renovate the place.”

They had to keep busy. They had to find ways to keep themselves busy.

“Also, it might be nice to add things as well. We are seriously lacking in a hotel bar and cafe.” Yoongi continued thinking out loud. “Seokjin hyung seriously didn't understand what the people wanted.”

“You tell him that.” Jungkook nodded.

“Seokjin hyung!” Yoongi called out, looking up towards the ceiling. “Why didn't you renovate the hotel? It's the twenty-first century!”

Jungkook snorted at the ridiculousness of it.

The rest of the work day went pretty fast. Jungkook and Yoongi both worked on design plans in downtime and frequently asked the other their thoughts.

“Have fun buying plants!” Minju shouted at them as they left for the day. Her and Hayoon were closing together.

It was a bit weird still for Jungkook to leave the hotel after his shifts and not return. It was weird to not take the elevator up to the fourth floor and lay in his bed.

It was weird, but it was weirder to be there and not see his friends.

“We might have to rent a truck.” Jungkook said as Yoongi drove them to the plant center. “I don’t know how we’re going to fit everything.”

“We can make multiple trips.” Yoongi said. “It's not too far out from the hotel, anyway.”

“Today I might just buy seeds.” Jungkook decided. “I want to know what I'll grow first.”

“That's smart.” Yoongi agreed as they pulled into the parking lot. “Are you ready?”

Jungkook nodded as they hopped out of the car and walked into the plant center hand-in-hand.

Jungkook struggled less going out in public. Of course there were always ghosts everywhere, but they didn't bother him like they used to. He wasn't sure if it was just because they reminded him of his friends, or he got more tolerance for it, but Jungkook found himself much less anxious in public.

“I definitely want a lot of vegetables and herbs.” Jungkook said as they looked at the plant selection.

“If you get cabbage and radish seeds we can make homemade kimchi.” Yoongi suggested.

Jungkook took a few of each. “Cucumbers always grow well, too.”

When they went to check out, Jungkook noticed the clerk had a ghost standing beside her.

He nodded his head towards the ghost as discreetly as he could to her absolute astonishment.

“You can see me?” The ghost asked, and Jungkook just gave her a small smile.

“Is this everything?” The worker asked as she rang in their seeds.

“Yes, please!” Jungkook said.

“Can you…” The ghost spoke again, looking a bit nervous. “Can you tell her I'm still with her? She's wearing my bracelet. I was her girlfriend.”

Jungkook swallowed a bit hard as he looked at the worker’s wrist and noticed a beautiful bracelet.

“I don't mean to be rude…” Jungkook spoke slowly. “Can I just say something?”

“Huh?” The worker titled her head. “What do you mean?”

“Your bracelet… It belonged to your girlfriend, right?”

“Jungkook…” Yoongi murmured beside him, partially as a warning because he knew these things never really went well.

“What? How do you know that?” She asked with wide eyes, instinctively reaching down to touch the bracelet.

“I…. She told me.” Jungkook said as the ghost gave him an encouraging smile. “Uh… She told me to tell you that she’s still with you.”

Jungkook took the bag of seeds he had with him and watched the girl’s face change from confusion, to surprise, to horror.

“What? What are you talking about?”

Jungkook bowed his head to her. “She told me to tell you that. Thank you so much.”

Jungkook led Yoongi out of the shop, leaving the girl stunned where she stood.

“Why did you do tha?” Yoongi asked when they got to his car. “I've never seen you do that before.”

“I'm not sure.” Jungkook admitted as he got into the passenger seat. “I just… I don't know. I felt like I had to.”

“I'm not sure that was the best way to go about it.”

Jungkook sighed, because he knew Yoongi was right and wasn't trying to start a fight.

“You're right. The ghost just seemed very kind… Sometimes I think about how Seokjin hyung wanted to help ghosts and I wonder why I don't do that. I started wondering if maybe I should use my powers for something.”

“If you use them or not is up to you.” Yoongi said as he drove out of the lot. “You don't have to use them just because you have them.”

Jungkook leaned his head against the car window. “I know, hyung. I think maybe I should.”

“Okay.” Yoongi said. “If you want to, we'll figure out a way to do it that's best for you, for the ghosts, and for the people being haunted.”

“Thank you for always supporting me, hyung.” Jungkook said, looking over at Yoongi. “Thank you for always being at my side.”

“Jungkook-ah, there is not a thing I wouldn't do for you.” Yoongi told him. “I love you more than I know what to do with, and I just want to see you happy.”

“I want to make him proud.” Jungkook said. “I want Seokjin hyung to be proud of me.”

Jungkook hated that everytime he brought Seokjin or the ghosts up he started crying.

He could never get through a simple conversation about them.

“Seokjin hyung would be proud of you just for living.” Yoongi told him. “He'd be so proud of how you've done these past four months. He'd be so proud of you.”

“I know.” Jungkook whispered. “He'd be proud of you, too, hyung.”

They pulled into their apartment complex and were quiet as they went up to their home.

Sugar bombarded them at the door, immediately screaming his head off for dinner despite dinner being an hour away.

“You never greet your dads normally.” Yoongi scolded the cat, but picked him up and patted his back. “Always ‘feed me!’ and never ‘Dads I love you!’”

“Our son is so greedy.” Jungkook said as he hung his jacket up and took off his shoes.

“It's because we spoil him too much.” Yoongi shook his head but cuddled the cat against him anyway.

Jungkook leaned over and pressed a kiss to the top of Sugar’s head and then a kiss on Yoongi’s nose.

“And what are we having for dinner?” Jungkook asked as Yoongi freed Sugar from his grasp.

Yoongi scoffed. “See this is where Sugar gets it from.”

“Worrying about dinner is not genetic.” Jungkook argued, but Yoongi didn't listen and just pulled Jungkook against him.

“What if I want to spend more time with you before worrying about dinner, though?”

Jungkook wrapped his arms around Yoongi and pulled him in for a kiss.

“I guess that's acceptable.” Jungkook decided in between kisses.

Being with Yoongi felt so normal. Being with Yoongi helped Jungkook more than anything because he knew they always had each other.

“I love you, hyung.” Jungkook said.

Yoongi pressed a kiss to Jungkook’s nose. “I love you, too.”

****

It was another beautiful day outside as the transition from winter to spring continued. Jungkook woke up in Yoongi's arms after having a vivid dream about being in one of the ghost team meetings.

The dreams were frequent, but Jungkook started to get used to them.

After the ghosts moved on, he'd have dreams about them almost every single night. They were always in the office, sitting in their usual spots.

Jungkook would wake up feeling extremely disoriented.

Now he kind of accepted them, because it was as close to the ghosts as he could get.

“Good morning.” He whispered against Yoongi's chest. “We have to get up for work.”

“What if I quit?”

Waking up Yoongi never got easier. Jungkook seriously wondered how he ever got up without him.

“Who is going to run the hotel then?”

“Minju can do it.”

“The hotel will burn down.”

Yoongi groaned loudly. “Five more minutes.”

Jungkook placed kisses all over Yoongi’s face because it was his favorite way to wake him up.

“Jungkook-ah…”

Jungkook kissed his jaw. “Come on, baby, I want to start setting up the garden.”

“Mmmf.”

Jungkook laughed and just ran a hand through Yoongi’s hair before sitting up and stretching.

“If you get up now we have enough time to get coffee before work.”

Yoongi squinted at Jungkook.

“You do remember that it doesn't matter if either of us are late because I run the entire hotel, right?”

“You giving me privileges to be late could get us sued.”

“By who.”

Jungkook slid out of bed and ignored Yoongi's whining. He got himself dressed and ready and threw Yoongi's uniform on top of him.

“I'll go feed our son before he starts biting your feet, but please get dressed while I do that so we can get to work.” Jungkook scolded as he got ready to feed Sugar.

“Fine.” Yoongi groaned again and finally sat up in bed as Jungkook walked into the kitchen, singing a little breakfast song for Sugar.

By the time Sugar finished gulping down his meal at an alarming speed, Yoongi was finally ready for the day.

“Do we still have time to get coffee?” Yoongi asked, still in a daze.

“Mhm.” Jungkook said, pressing a kiss to Yoongi's lips. “Let's go?”

It was their routine. They always get coffee before work, and Jungkook liked to think back on when Yoongi used to pick up the coffee for him and Jungkook before they were dating.

“Do you want anything to eat?” Jungkook asked as they got ready to order at the cafe.

Yoongi shook his head. “Not feeling it.”

“I'll get an egg and cheese croissant and we can split it later if you change your mind.”

Yoongi smiled at him. “Okay.”

When they pulled up at the hotel, Jungkook did give a sad glance to the revolving door. It was something that still got him every single day.

The door was empty.

“Another day.” Yoongi yawned as they walked in. “I must've slept badly, I'm so tired today.”

“Well time to wake up.” Jungkook laughed. “Let's get to work.”

“Yeah, okay, boss.”

Jungkook nudged him with another laugh as they got settled in at the desk for the day.

Not even five minutes of the desk being open and the phone blared out ringing, making Yoongi jump.

“Who would possibly be calling so early in the morning?”

“I'll answer it. Drink your coffee.” Jungkook said as he reached for the phone.

“Hello?” Jungkook answered the phone. “Thank you for calling, this is Jeon Jungkook speaking. How may I help you?”

“Ah, yeah…” The voice on the other end said. “Hm…. Jungkook-ssi. I have a strange request.”

“A strange request?” Jungkook repeated, and Yoongi gave him a questioning look.

“Yeah. Do you take parties?”

“Parties?”

“Like, large reservations.”

Jungkook sat there for a second trying to figure out what this person meant.

“How many rooms are you trying to book?”

Yoongi mouthed ‘how many?’ at Jungkook in astonishment. It wasn't very often people booked more than one room in their hotel.

“Ah, well. Two of us don't mind sharing, but the rest of us don't mind personal space. Do you have four rooms available?”

“Four rooms?”

‘Four rooms?’ Yoongi mouthed to Jungkook who just shrugged.

Jungkook looked through his excel sheet. It was still relatively slow at the hotel, so of course they had the space, but he was still baffled.

“When do you need the rooms? And do you need them all on the same floor?”

“Well, those are great questions.”

Jungkook put his head in his hands.

“Well, I definitely need one, like, right now.”

“Right now.”

“Yeah, but just one.”

Jungkook was silent,

“Hello?” The person on the line asked.

“You need one room immediately, but you're unsure when you need the others.”

“Yes, that's what I said.”

Yoongi was trying to hide his laughing in his hand and Jungkook was questioning his sanity.

“Okay. I can only book you for one room. Unfortunately, I can't book you for the others if you don't know when you need them.”

“What? Nooo…” The person on the phone whined and Jungkook thought the voice almost sounded a little too familiar but he decided not to think too hard about it.

“You don't even know when you need the other rooms!” Jungkook argued. “Why would I book them if you don't even know?”

He didn't care about customer service anymore, and Yoongi was laughing too much for him to reprimand Jungkook for it anyway.

“Wow, I'm going to write a terrible review about this hotel.”

“Are you booking a room or not?” Jungkook was really hoping the person would just give up.

“Hm… Yeah, even though you suck at your job.”

Jungkook contemplated hitting his head against the desk.

“Great.” He said instead. “What name is this going to be under?”

“Name? Oh. Does Kim Seokjin work?”

Jungkook dropped the phone. His entire world stopped.

“Are you okay? Jungkook-ah?” Yoongi reached out for him but Jungkook just stared.

Yoongi picked up the phone. “Hello? Who is this?”

He paused, waiting.

“They hung up. Jungkook, what happened?”

“He….” Jungkook took a deep breath. “He said his name is Kim Seokjin.”

“Do you think…” Yoongi clenched his fists. “It must be a coincidence, right?”

“Must be.” Jungkook’s heart was pounding. “It must be.”

Jungkook and Yoongi sat at the desk anxiously for the next couple hours as they waited to see if the mysterious person would come in.

Every time the revolving doors spun around, their heads would shoot over to see who was walking in. Yoongi didn't even really know what Seokjin looked like, but he was on high alert anyway.

“It couldn't be.” They kept saying.

It had to be a coincidence, it had to be.

It was an hour before their shift was set to end when someone dressed head to toe in traditional hanbok walked through the doors. Jungkook couldn't get a good look at his face because the man’s gat was covering his eyes.

“Is this a saja boy?” Jungkook whispered to Yoongi who snorted.

“Hello, how may we help you?” Yoongi asked as the man approached the desk, slowly.

Neither of them could still get a good look at his face.

“I'm here for my reservation for Kim Seokjin.” The man said, sliding his gat above his eyes and looking at both of them.

“Did you actually set up my booking, or is there a manager I could complain to?”

Jungkook sat, frozen in place.

“Oh wait.” Kim Seokjin said, before bursting into laughter. “I'm already the manager, silly me. So did you set up my reservation or not?”

Jungkook fell out of his chair.

Kim Seokjin stood in front of them, not as a ghost, but as a human.
