Miss Mary Rose Parker was a lovely girl, given to bouts of mischief as she would give impressions of the young men that came to Sanditon that pursued her hand. Lord Drew had been on the receiving end of display when Miss Parker hadn’t noticed him standing nearby. Instead of accepting her apology, he only accepted no less than a courtship in hopes of discouraging the ambitious mamas of the marriage mart.
In turn, Miss Parker had fallen hopelessly in love with him and he with her.
Eliza sighed as she put the pen down. It seemed Charlotte won again.
