Chapter Text
“That wasn’t very nice”. Alvin wheezed as his back hit harshly into the brick wall of the district. As his vision cleared he met the eyes of Denny Woods.
“I’ll give you one more chance Olinsky. One more chance to turn Hank in”.
“Let me go”. Al turned trying to get away from the hands holding him back. His head was pushed into the wall and he had a feeling Denny wasn’t just going to let him walk away without consequence.
“I don’t mind going for you. It’s no skin off my back to destroy you both”. Denny said as he looked at the man in front of him.
“Then I'm not sure why were having this conversation”. That seemed to be the wrong thing to say if Denny's reaction was anything to go off. He was pushed to the ground and his attempts at getting away were halted from the kicks that started. The sudden attack stopped as quick as it had started leaving Alvin alone, curled up and wheezing in the parking lot.
“Detective Olinsky? Are you alright? Cam, go get Sergeant Platt”. Al didn’t recognize the cop who helped him sit up but clearly the cop had recognized him. Al looked up suddenly as the guy's words to his friend registered in Al’s brain.
“Don’t get Trudy. I’m fine”. Al got himself to his feet ignoring the pain in his ribs. This wasn’t worth involving Trudy over. If she knew then Hank would find out and the already shitty situation would only get worse.
“Detective you really should get checked out”. The cop protested and Al ignored him as he limped to his car which was thankfully not far away. He got in as quickly as he physically could and drove off before Trudy could see him. He wasn’t worth her worry and she would only ask for answers he couldn’t give.
When Al arrived home he quickly headed inside thankful Hank was in his office with the door shut probably finishing up paperwork. Alvin headed up to their bedroom and to the bathroom to access the damage. He made sure to lock the door as he turned to face the mirror.
His chest was already starting to bruise especially around his ribs. Al carefully prodded at his ribs finding at least two of them broken. His ankle started protesting and Al remembered the kick that had landed straight on the limb. He got himself sitting on the edge of the bathtub and stretched his leg out in front of him. Alvin was almost certain his ankle was only sprained and let out a sigh of relief. Al usually wore socks to bed anyway so that would be easy to hide.
Al started a bath and soon climbed in. The hot water soothed his aching and bruised body as he thought about what had happened earlier.
Al had expected Denny to corner him at some point. Especially as he continued building a case against Al. Alvin knew he didn’t have much time left and was prepared. His affairs were all in order and all that was left was to wait until his ultimate arrest and imprisonment. He made sure to soak in the moments with Hank, Michelle and the unit as he had a feeling it was all coming to an end. Sure Al knew that as soon as he was arrested Hank would turn himself in, no matter what Al said but Al also knew he might not make it that long.
His thoughts were interrupted as Hank knocked on the door.
“I’m going to order Pizza if that’s okay with you Darling?” Hank asked through the door.
“Sounds good Hal. Our normal?”
“Of course. I’ll come back when it arrives”. Hank responded.
“I’m getting out soon so don’t bother”. Even if Al wanted to stay in the bath longer he knew that if he got out within the next couple minutes Hank wouldn’t see him injured.
“Okay”. Al heared footsteps walking away and a minute later got out. He wrapped a towel around himself glad Hank wasn’t in their bedroom. He got changed making sure no injuries were visible and slowly headed downstairs being mindful of his ankle injury.
Dinner was nice and Alvin savored every moment. Bed was a relief as the pain started getting worse and when Hank headed into the shower, Al took it as a moment to grab the Tylenol. Once the pain had faded some and Hank had joined him in bed Alvin soon fell asleep trying to forget everything that had happened that day and everything that was going to happen.
