Chapter 1: Movie Night

Chapter Text

It was a peaceful night at the Avengers compound, Peter asked everyone to watch a movie with him. Even Loki agreed to the request, he was reading but here nonetheless. The movie was paused because Nat, Steve, and Clint went to get more snacks from the kitchen.

Thor was staring at his adopted brother from his seat on the floor. He made the weird noise before standing quickly, getting an odd look from Bruce. He pointed at Loki who looked up at him for a moment before going back to the book.

"Brother," Thor said loudly, everyone looking on in confusion. Loki huffed and closed his book.

"What do you need Thor?" The tone of boredom and annoyance coated his words.

"Your son, it's his day of birth!" Thor yelled, now all eyes were on Loki.

"I am aware of that." His eyes flicked across the other Avengers in the room staring at him. He shook his head and opened his book again seemingly trying to end the conversation.

"Then why aren't you with him?" Thor took a few steps toward his brother with a frown.

"I saw him this morning." He answered shortly.

"Can I go see him?"

"No." Loki said immediately and glared at Thor.

"He's my nephew."

"Yeah the nephew you tried to kill, I can assure you he does not want to see you." Loki snapped. Thor deflated and just nodded and turned to sit back down.
Tony looked between the two in shock just like the others in the room. Peter was eyeing Loki in thought before picking up a bag of chips. That seemed to snap the others out of it and the movie started again. Tony didn't let it go though and stopped the movie.

"Okay Wait, are we going to ignore that conversation? Loki has a son we didn't know about, Thor tried to kill that said, son." He said drawing the attention of the others. Thor was silent, and Loki nodded.

"You were not supposed to know of him," Loki said, still staring down at his book.

"Why did Thor try to kill him?" Steve asked.

"Ask Thor," Loki said closing his book and glaring at his brother.

Thor was still quiet, staring at the floor.

"Thor?" Steve said.

"Odin said he was too dangerous and was a threat to our kingdom, that he had to die to protect Asgard.”

"Why would a baby be a threat?" Tony asked.

"He was born a pureade. They are extremely rare, he’s the first in 500,000 years. More powerful than any being in the nine realms." Thor explained and looked over at his brother.

"How did they know he was a pureade?" Steve asked

"Pureades have different colored eyes, Loki's son has one green and one blue."

"How old is he?" Peter asked. Loki looked over to him scanning his face.

"880 which in your years is about 20 maybe a little more." Peter smiled widely.

“Is he a god like you two?"

"The God of Spirit and Destination. Now can we please continue the film." Loki opened his book now ignoring the others in the room. Peter reached over and turned the movie back on.

The rest of the night went by without any mention of Loki's son. Thor was now silent just staring at the screen. Loki had finished his book and was now watching the movie as well.

Once the movie was over, Peter was asleep and was carried away by Tony. The other Avengers slowly left the room as well, calling goodnight behind them. Leaving the two Godly Brothers sitting quietly.

"I am truly sorry Loki," Thor said, finally looking at Loki again. Loki sighed and glared at Thor Leaving the room in his flash of his magic.

Chapter 2: The Next Day ;)

Chapter Text

I couldn't stop thinking about Loki's son, I really wanted to meet him. Get to know someone close to my age again, well kind of my age in human terms.

Dang it I forgot to ask for his name, Maybe Loki is awake by now. He didn't seem too happy when his son was brought up though. I could always just ask It'll be fine.

I walked out of my room, and towards the library / Study room Tony put in. Loki spent most of his time there, as did I because it is usually the quietest place to study. Most of the other Avengers tend to avoid the area. When I walked in I saw Loki sitting reading a new book. A Steaming cup of tea sitting on the nearby table.

"Morning Loki!" I said quietly. He looked up and gave me a soft smile.

"Morning, everything alright?" He asked and closed his book, setting it aside.

"Yes, everything is fine I just wanted to talk to you." I walked more into the room and took the seat a few feet away from him.

"About?" Loki questioned.

"Can you tell me and your son?" He seemed to stiffen slightly. "If you don't want to, that's fine, I was just curious." His soft smile returned and he nodded slightly.

"What do you want to know about him?"

"What's his name?"

"Rune.”

"Does he use magic like you?"

"Yes, I taught him everything I knew and he went on to learn more independently. So I would say he's better at magic than I am."

"Can I meet him one day?" Loki shrugged.

"That's up to him, he's been listening to the conversation." Peter looked around looking for any sign of someone else in the room. "He's not going to show himself."

"Oh well, hello then," Peter said, in no particular direction. He gave a light wave around the room with a smile.

Loki felt a soft touch on his shoulder, no doughtily his son making his presence known.

Rune silently moved closer to the young mortal that seemed so fascinated with him. He kept himself invisible as he leaned close to the boy. He moved to stand behind him, watching him smile and wave for a person he couldn't see. Rune reached forward and lightly brushed his fingers through the boy's soft hair.

Peter fell out of his chair wide-eyed looking at the empty space behind his chair. Loki actually laughed before offering a hand down to the confused boy on the floor.

"What was that." He asked, taking Loki's hand.

"My son is messing with you," Loki explained.

"Wow, well hi I'm Peter, it's nice to meet you." Peter put his hand out to try to touch him, but Loki put his hand out to stop him.

"He doesn't like being touched, you don't want to be stabbed. He probably will not actually talk to you either. " He said, lowering his hand.

"Oh sorry I didn't know, and it's fine if you don't talk to me. Can I see any of your magic without actually seeing you?" He was looking out to the empty space near the chair he was sitting in.

Soon there was a soft flash of gold magic before a small collection of stars and planets formed around Peter. His eyes were wide as he took in the beautiful scene Rune created.

"It's so beautiful." He whispered.

"Thank you." A smooth, accented voice said from the empty space. Peters's headshot over in the direction.

"You're welcome," Peter said.

"Who Talked?" A voice came from right outside the door.

Chapter 3: Mischief Runs in His Blood

Summary:

Sorry, it's so short omg.

Chapter Text

Rune's magic vanished right before Thor walked through the door.

"No one." Peter said sitting down in the chair again.

"None of your concern." Loki hissed. Reaching over and taking sips out of his cup. Thor nodded and walked further into the room.

Rune stood quietly watching the three. He slowly walked closer to Thor, reaching out and carefully taking a few strands of hair. Thor didn't notice but the other two did. Rune pulled on the hair he held. Thor jerked back in shock, swinging his arm back trying to hit whoever pulled his hair. Peter was laughing at the blonde God freaked out. Rune dodged Thor's swing before walking back to stand near the young mortal. Rune tapped the boy lightly on his shoulder, and Peter jumped before smiling softly.

"Oh oh, your sons here. That was him right, he pulled my hair." Thor said doing the same as Peter before, trying to find the young God.

"He already left." Loki said and picked up the book he was reading.

"Okay well if he comes back or you talk to him, can you ask if I can speak to him as well." Thor said and Loki nodded.

Thor left and Peter went out to get breakfast. Rune followed the young mortal throughout the day. He was quite attractive if Rune was honest. His nightly activity was strange but it seemed to make him happy.

Chapter 4: Rune's Pov

Summary:

Runes a little stalker, but a helpful one.

Chapter Text

I followed the mortal boy to his Midgardian school, it was extremely crowded in the narrow hallways. I was doing my best to move out of the way of the people but soon had to just let them pass through me.

Peter walked straight to a thicker boy standing near a row of lockers attached to the walls. They greeted each other happily and did some weird thing with their hands.

A girl walked past me, looking down at her book, and approached the two boys.

"Hey MJ." They both said. She looked up for a moment.

"Hey, losers." She said with a soft hit of a smile before returning to reading.

They stood talking for a moment before a different guy walked over to the three with a group of idiotic people following.

"Hey, Penis Parker!" The guys shouted before shoving Peter forward, causing him to hit his head on the medal. The guy laughed as did his group of idiots. Ned, as I learned, put a hand on Peter's shoulder asking if he was okay.

"Oh fuck off Eugene." MJ snapped at the boy before he walked off. How dare he hurt the boy, he's done nothing to this Eugene. I walked away from the three to follow him, when he was far enough away from Peter I put my foot out and swiped his legs out from under him. He fell face-first into the hard tile floors, blood coming from his nose. People around him laughed and he scrambled to his feet holding his nose. He ran off down one of the halls quickly.

I turned back to where Peter was. He had a smile on his face and now had a bandage on his forehead. I knew he couldn't see me but it felt like he was looking directly at me.

A few hours went by before I followed him into a large food hall. This mortal school was as mind-numbing as I heard it was. It was loud in here but he walked over to an empty table and pulled a lunch box from his backpack. Ned joined him followed by the girl still reading her book. I sat beside Peter, his hand was sitting on the table while he ate with one hand. I reached forward and brushed my fingers over the back of his hand. He jumped and almost threw the sandwich across the room before looking over to where I was sitting. He smiled in my direction and continued to eat his lunch. He stopped and looked over at me again, bending to get a notebook out of his bag.

"What are you doing?" Ned asked as Peter quickly wrote something on the paper.

"Asking a question." He said with a smile, before placing the pen down and pushing the notebook over to sit in front of me.

Did you trip Flash this morning?

Flash? I guess that's what the boy is called.

"What do you mean, asking a question?" Ned said, looking from the notebook to Peter.

I reached out and took his pen off the table, turning it invisible so people didn't see a floating pen at the table. Ned gasped and the Girl actually looked slightly confused, before going back to her book but watching from over the pages.

If Flash is that Eugene person then yes, that was me.

I put the pen back down, and it reappeared on the table. I pushed the notebook back over to Peter, and Ned looked like he was going to combust. Peter started laughing before pushing the book over to Ned. I smiled at Peter's laughter, It was a nice sound compared to the noise of the room. Ned laughed as well, pushing the book to MJ. She looked it over before giving a small chuckle.

"So umm who is that?" Ned motioned to the general area between Peter and me. Peter took the book back from MJ writing on the paper again.

Can I tell them who you are, or do I just make something up?

Considerate. I took the pen from the table again and it disappeared for the others.

I'd prefer you didn't. Make up something as you said.

I passed it back and he nodded.

"They are umm just a friend, you know magic department intern.” MJ looked up shaking her head and Ned didn't seem convinced. He was a terrible Liar, that was awful.

"You are an awful Liar." MJ said.

“SI doesn’t have a magic department.” Ned answered rubbing his face.

I picked the pen up again and pulled the notebook to me.

You are a terrible liar.

Peter groaned in response.

“Well, I can’t tell you so whatever.”

I saw that Flash guy walking over and I flipped the book closed. Flash walked up with a bruise on his nose and pushed Peter's head to the table with less force than I thought would be necessary to move Peter. Just like earlier, it seemed like he only pretended to be affected by this flash guy's actions. After watching him last night he was obviously stronger than this guy, why would he tolerate such behavior?

"How does that feel, Parker? I know you had something to do with that earlier, don’t try that shit again." He shoved Peter again before walking away. I stood and walked after him until he was standing next to a full-looking rubbish bin. I tipped him again and tipped the bin over so the rubbish got all over the boy on the floor. He screamed as liquids poured from some containers, and food covered his face and clothing. People laughed and he gave a furious yell before glaring around and walking off. I walked to sit next to Peter who was holding a tissue to his nose. I opened the book and wrote quickly.

Come with me.

He looked confused but nodded, I led him while holding his arm down the hall to the male washroom. Once we were both inside I locked the door behind me. His eyes narrowed and his head tilted slightly. I took a deep breath before revealing myself to him. He jumped back but was smiling when he realized what had happened.
“Oh my gods hi.” He said happily.

“Hello.” I felt weird to be visible to someone, let alone talk to someone again. I pushed the weird feeling away before I reached forward to lower his hand, revealing his bleeding nose. I took one of the napkins that was hanging from the wall and patted away some of the blood before covering his nose with my hand. Using magic I healed the busted vein on the inside and stopped the bleeding. I pasted some magic over the cut on his forehead as well. I pulled my hand away from him again and moved to the sink, washing the blood away. He took the other sink and splashed some water on his face removing the traces of blood and bandage.
"Thank you, and you don't have to do anything about Flash. He's been doing it for years and I'd rather him mess with me than someone who can't handle it." He explained looking down at his feet. I smiled and brushed my hand across his arm trying to be reassuring before unlocking the door. I moved and hid myself again so he would walk out first if someone was standing outside.

We went back to the table and he finished his food. I pulled the book back to me and turned to the page we were writing on.

I have to go, Goodbye Peter.

I wrote and teleported away and back to the place I call home.

Chapter 5: Letters at Dinner? How Rude.

Notes:

Sorry this is short but I wanted to give some info about Rune.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The Avengers were sitting around the dinner table talking and eating food like normal before a pitch blackbird flew into an open window and landed on Loki's shoulder. It was carrying a rolled paper in its mouth. Loki took the letter from the bird before it vanished in a puff of smoke.

"I apologize, I know it's rude to receive letters at the table." Loki said and placed the roll into his pocket. Everyone moved on but Thor who just stared at his brother before sighing.

We all finished up our food and Loki left after putting his plate away.

“What are your plans tonight?” Tony's hand clapped down on my shoulder.

“Homework, I have that final project to finish.” I put my plate in the sink trying To avoid Steve fighting with the water dispenser.

“Come on kid, you're what? 18? On a Friday Night. Go out, party, do something.”

“If I do anything tonight it will be going on patrols.” I pushed Tony's hand away from me as he tried to ruffle my hair.

“Whatever you say, kid.” He poured himself a cup of way too expensive coffee and started for the elevator. “I'll be in the lab, join me if you want. Oh and be safe on patrol.” He shot finger guns at me as the elevator doors closed.

The other Avengers made their way out of the room at their own pace. Some made similar comments to me as Tony did.

My room was a mess perusal, but I found my laptop and notebooks before walking to the small library. Loki was in there sitting at one of the tables writing a letter.

“Homework time?” Loki asked as I sat at the other end of the table.

“Always.”

“How long until you graduate again?”

“Three weeks.”

“So three more weeks of that pest Flash?” I practically choked on air. How did he know about that? I've been able to keep the bullying under wraps for this long. Loki must have noticed my reaction and held up the rolled letter he revived. “Rune told me he followed you around yesterday.”

“Snitch.” I muttered, hoping he wasn't in here to hear me make the comment. “It's nothing to worry about, I can handle him.”

“If you would have told us, we could have made it stop.”

“So he could mess with someone else that doesn't heal as fast as me?” That was the only reason I tolerated Flash's behavior.

“You're too kind Peter.” He paused his writing and looked over at me. “But don't ever change.” He continued his writing after smiling at me.

“You won’t tell the others?”

“Lords no.”

“Thank you.”

“But I will if need to.” I only nodded at his comment and tried to focus on my project. But it was hard to focus. Ever since Rune stood in front of me in the locked bathroom I couldn't get him out of my head. He was undoubtedly Loki’s child. He wasn’t as pale as Loki but his hair was just as dark and his features drew the same sharpness. His hair was long and looked messy at first but it was intentional. The sides braided tightly back away from his face but the rest fell past his shoulders. He was gorgeous. And omg don’t get me started on his eyes. His two-tone eyes were unique on their own but the way he lined them with eyeliner made them so intense. It was like he could see into my soul if he wanted to. Wait. He’s been following me around! Does that mean?

“Loki, does Rune know about Spider-Man?”

“Yes, he said you have very peculiar nightly activities.”

Loki motioned over to the rolled-up letter as he was sealing the one he wrote. They are writing letters about me. Should I be honored or creeped out? I’m honestly not sure.

“He won’t tell anyone right?” I don’t know who he would tell but better safe than sorry I suppose.

“Rune holds more secrets than anyone in this realm.” Loki waved his hand and the same
blackbird appeared on the table. He rubbed its head before handing over his letter.

“That sounds awful.” I don’t enjoy keeping the secrets I have now, I wouldn’t want to hold on to whatever Rune does.

“It's part of being a Pureade.” The bird vanished. I need to ask about how that works eventually.

“What is a Pureade?” I read about some Norse mythology when Thor and Loki showed up on Earth all those years ago but I don’t remember Pureades being mentioned.

“They are an incredibly rare kind of magic user, not exclusively Norse, the other still alive now is Greek. They are capable of seeing how every person will affect the world and ensure that it happens. So if someone dies before leaving their mark on the world they can send them back.” Loki explained.

“So the secrets Rune has to keep is how anyone he talks to will impact the world.”

“Mostly. If you tell them It may not happen. But you should be working on your project.” I looked back at my laptop and it had gone to sleep.

“True.”

This is the reference photo to Rune's hair but in black. I tried to describe it better but oh well. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/544091198731919960/

Chapter 6: Runes Brother

Summary:

Loki has more than one child. Once again it's short but I'm trying to build up the characters.

Notes:

Also, Rune calls Loki his mom, because Loki birthed Rune, Rune's father to remain unknown for a bit. Syrics is adopted but also calls Loki mom.

Chapter Text

“Where have you been lurking around this week?” My brother plopped on the bench beside me. The sudden force of his shoulder against mine made my book almost fall to the grass.

“Whatever do you mean.” I pushed him off my shoulder and over to his side of the bench.

“You know what I mean. Since when do you leave so much?” Oh great, I was hoping the boy wouldn't notice my ins and outs the last week.

“My travels are mine to worry about, not yours.”

“Oh My Lords, You're just like mom.” He groaned out mom as long as he could and flung his arms in mock dramatics.

“I've been told.” I imitated my mother's best sass and he groaned even louder. “You're just like him with your dramatics.” He glared at me while trying to hold his laughter. “So how did you trick your tutor into letting you out of your lessons early again?”

“She just let me out early.” He answered though giggling.

“She would never.”

“But magic is so boring.”

“I asked if you wanted to learn and you said yes.”

“I didn't know you had to read so much.”

“That's why my library is so big.” He groaned again, rolled off the bench, and sprawled out on the grass.

“Can I take fighting lessons instead?” He reached over and pulled the dagger out of my boot. He tried to spin it around his fingers in some fancy way before stabbing the blade into the grass.

“That's not up to me Syrics.” Loki may not be around as much as he wants to be but still makes the decisions regarding his youngest.

“Go ask mom for me.”

“You’re old enough to write him a letter.” I summed a set of stationary and held it out to him. He looked at it before swinging the knife playfully at it.

“He only listens to you.” He slashed at the grass again.

“How would you know, you never ask.”

“I just know, you’re the favorite.”

“I’m not the favorite, I’m just the oldest. Now go inside and write the letter. I’ll go talk to your tutor.” I stood sending the kit to my desk and holding a hand out to Syric.

“Fine.”
