Chapter Text
I sat there lying only a few feet away from my front door. "Is this really happening?" I thought, looking up at the lightly colored wood ceiling above me. ‘’At least the ceiling is pretty. Not the worst thing to look at while I’m dying. right?’’ I thought, deep down knowing it was only to make me feel better. Choking on my own blood. Is there even a worse way to die?
Suddenly I heard shoes on dense wood approaching my front door. Not very soon after, I heard my front door open. “Maybe someone to put me out of my misery?’’ I hoped, Not having enough strength to look up. “Jee kid, what happened to you?” I heard a male voice say, sounding around my age. I didn't even think about trying to see who it was. I don’t know who it was, nor do I care. He walked past me and walked around my house taking in the scene.
“You’re lucky, you’re the only one to survive that.” The voice said, not caring that he had just seen dead people laying around.
And where in this situation am I lucky? The man finally revealed himself crouching in front of me. He didn't look human. He had long dark brown hair that nearly covered one of his dark red eyes…That can’t be normal. He wore a dark red vest with a black button up, he’s dressed up like some type of story character.
“Aw, come on lighten up you should be glad right now.” He said smiling at me.
All I could do was make a displeased face by scrunching my eyebrows. “Heh, sorry bad joke huh?“ He laughed. Seriously what’s this guy’s problem? I observed his face a bit more and notice how sharp his fangs are, It’s as strange as his eye color. The man’s smiled widened before he started talking again.
“You’re a smart kid, right? You look like it so I’m sure you noticed I don’t look like your average human hm?” His smile grew making sure saw how sharp his fangs were.
“I guess I shouldn’t keep you waiting, my names Malcanis, I am an vampire and a sworn protector of Alzeren. Since this is such a sad scene and you’re so young.” He said wiping some of the blood off my chin.
“I’ve decided I’m going to offer you a second chance at life, a chance to walk away from this life and start a new, as a living dead of course.” That man.. Malcanis, he kept smiling, looking down at me as if he was anticipating my answer. But, how would I answer that? He’s asking me to be a vampire…? To leave my life behind? I must be going crazy and experiencing near death hallucinations .
“Join me?”
I stare up at him contemplating my answer. Not that there’s a way this is more than a hallucination, but if there is an escape why would I deny it? This life has been futile and meaningless. I’ve been born just to die without accomplishing a thing. Though, I shouldn’t be surprised, I’ve been cursed from the start with this forsaken family. I nod.
Malcanis smile somehow grows wider as he pulls me up and brings his face to my neck, the side without the stab wound. I flinch as his fangs grace my. “I was hoping you’d say yes.” His breath is warm on my neck as he whispers, making the situation feel even more real… and uncomfortable.
I felt his tongue drag across my neck and instinctively try to pull away only to be met with a tighter grasp. “Quit being difficult.” He huffed.
I managed to let out a wince as his fangs seep into my neck. Somehow it starts to hurt worse when he pulls them out and starts to lick up the blood that’s flows out of the wound. My vision starts to grow blurry, and my head starts to feel lighter. Is it finally over?
He finally pulls away, with the same smile he had earlier, but it’s all a blur. “How do you feel?”
Dizzy…really dizzy. And then everything went dark.
