Living next to Kim Namjoon has never been easy. Since I moved into this neighborhood three years ago, he and I have constantly butted heads. Namjoon is a walking contradiction — distant and composed, yet there's a fire beneath the surface that I can't ignore. Maybe it’s his pride, or maybe it’s the way he tries to hide how much he feels. Either way, we always find ourselves in these petty little arguments. But lately, something’s changed. There’s a tension now. A charged silence between the words. A look that lingers a little too long.
But when a good friend — and old flame — comes to town, things change. Feathers get ruffled, lines blur, and a choice needs to be made.
“You can’t park like that,” I snapped, arms crossed as I eyed his crooked attempt at parallel parking.
“It’s still within the lines,” he shot back, not even looking up from his phone.
“Barely. You’re one bump away from being in my driveway.”
He smirked — that infuriating, knowing smirk. “Maybe I like being close.”
