“Just because I’m the only one here? That’s why you let me do all of that to you? Are you fucking kidding me?” Suguru is looking at Satoru like he'd said something truly hurtful.
“Who else was there?”
“Would you stop saying stuff like that?"
“What? That no one wants me?” Satoru bristled, thinking Suguru must be pitying him again. “Never give me that placating bullshit. Someone would have to be blind, deaf, and fucking dumb to want me.”
“I did.”
In which one New Year’s kiss causes Satoru to become very caught up on things he’s never wanted before and the many experiences he’s never had. The fantasies cut a little too deep, however, when they blend the lines of his friendship with his best friend, Suguru, and leave him ashamed and confused. It's just Satoru's luck then to be stuck spending his summer with the exact person he never wanted to show his face to ever again but still feels like home.
