Summary
Reader is a young woman in medieval times whose lot in life is to marry the future King of the realm. A man known for his temper and mistreatment of others, Reader knows her marriage and subsequent bearing of heirs would be the slow death of her soul. When her lady in waiting offers an alternative death by much more pleasant means, she's willing to take the plunge. However, not all is as it seems. There are darker, hungrier things lurking in the gathering darkness and every Siren needs their Storm if they hope to stand a chance.
