Hello
I made a friend today. Her name is Moira. She's about my age, has kind of messy hair, very tired eyes, and wears a really cool jacket that has a bunch of neat patches on it. She's a little aggressive and kind of angry a lot but I think she's really just scared and alone because of the curse. She has a curse, by the way.
Earlier today, after checking on my plants, I went flying around Koriko looking for something to do. I ended up overhearing people talk about some kind of monster prowling around an abandoned mall at night. A group of kids swore to me that it was a giant beast that attacked them while they were exploring. One guy said he was chased by something with sharp claws and eyes that glow in the dark. I asked my police friend, his name is Officer Parker, by the way, and he told me about the calls he's answered about a creature but he hadn't seen anything. He also told me that "a little girl shouldn't be wandering alone at night." How else am I supposed to catch this monster if it only shows up at night?
I went to the abandoned mall at night to try and find the monster. I've met spirits and seen creatures before so I figured 'how bad could it be?'
I have never been so scared in my life.
Abandoned buildings always have some traces of the people who lived or worked in them. The older a building is and the more people who have been in it, the stronger and more traces there are. It felt like no matter which way I turned there was someone or something watching us. Which, in hindsight, was actually the case.
It was so dark in that mall, even with a light spell. I guess it was around midnight when I finally saw even a piece of the monster everyone was talking about. First there were eyes in darkness and then I was knocked on my butt. I don't know what happened but there was a flash and when I looked I saw a girl huddled by a door. Turns out the scary monster was a scared girl named Moira. She's part cat or something because of a weird statue she found and she ran away from home. I want to know more but it was late and she wasn't up to sharing more then. I'll get her, though, just you wait.
In the morning I'll go find Parker and let him know the monster mystery is solved. After that we're back on the house hunt! Moira is letting me stay in the mall for now since it's still cold out.
