    Summary

    After so many years of loss and suffering in exile, Thrawn returns to the Known Galaxy thanks to the efforts of the Great Mothers and Morgan Elsbeth. However, his arrival has been anticipated, and the New Republic forces arrive at the site soon after, to take the feared Grand Admiral down before he can find allies to his cause. As a precaution, though, Thrawn sends the pregnant reader and their firstborn to the Chaos, with instructions to find refuge with his old acquitances, Admiral Ar'alani of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet, and Eli Vanto, a former Lieutenant Commander aboard the ISD Chimaera whom he had sent to the Ascendancy well before the hell had broken loose over Lothal. The reader now has to fend for herself and step into a rancor pit. Will she be able to adjust to the changes that are coming her way?

    Chapter One:
    The reader was sent away from the Chimaera with instructions to attempt contact with the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. She manages the unthinkable feat, however, there is no warm welcome awaiting her. The Chiss are as xenophobic as the Galactic Empire used to be, and nobody believes that a human could even carry a hybrid child.
