Summary
A few months after the events of season 3, Max is sent to live with her dad in Lenora Hills, California. Grieving Billy and feeling unwanted, the last thing she needs is El and Will reminding her of everything that went wrong last summer. But Max always gets exactly what she deserves, and apparently what she deserves is a complicated, messy friendship.
El is in school for the first time, and it’s better than she could have imagined. She’s involved in extracurriculars, she’s obsessed with an older girl, and she (sort of) has a family. But when Max shows up, bringing the past with her, El must grapple with who she was and who she wants to be.
