    Tony stays by Steve's frozen bedside. He thinks of the cold-blooded nurse; he thinks of the biometric locks on every door and every other reminder that Steve Rogers is coming back to a hostile world, surrounded by people who want to use him. And then he wonders if Fury left this empty chair by Rogers’ bed on purpose.

    Because he knew Tony wouldn’t want to leave.

    He stays until he is kicked out, and like the addict that he is, he keeps coming back.
