Summary
The warmth of summer had vanished quite quickly, squandered in a relentless series of harsh winds that twisted the soft orange leaves from their home, leaving the dark spruce trees bare to the squalling snowstorms ahead—it was beautiful in a way, or so Purpled believed it to be. Perhaps he was biased in saying so, as his only chosen activity was watching the seasons change from the temporary windows of each foster home, watching the windowpanes grow frosted and melt again when the sun returned to its home above them. He wonders what the sun thinks of him; he hopes it’s as highly as his regard for it.
