A routine vampire hunt in the midwest goes sideways when Sam and Dean Winchester stumble into Maxwell "Max" Wesson—an ex-CPD Homicide detective who's been living out of her car for eight months, hunting something she won't name.
She's armed with a demon-killing blade, combat skills that match theirs, and a nasty vampire bite that nearly kills her. She saves Sam's life with a machete. Then she tries to run.
