"My eyes!" the boy sobbed as he scrubbed at his face. "They burn!" The deity looked at him in sorrow, "I'll see what I can do, little Master." They melted into the shadows that surrounded the young boy.

"Ah, Death," Fate sighed as her sibling appeared from the shadows before her.
"Fate, my sister. You know why I'm here."
Fate looked up from her scrying bowl to face her stricken sibling.
"You know I don't actually control fate, dear one. I merely watch it. Guide it, if necessary."
"I know," Death looked forlorn, taking a shaky breath before asking the most they had ever asked of their sister. "Please, Fate, he's so young yet. Is there anything you can do for him?"
"I cannot change his fate, but I shall give him my blessing." She turned to the bowl of water, watching her reflection swirl. "Let's see how he uses it." -
