He closed his eyes and took a deep breath through his nose.
“If you’re gonna do it, Parker, just do it,” he muttered, grabbing the doorknob and turning, pushing the door open gently and quietly.
Immediately upon entering he felt the anxiety begin to flee his body at the sound of the light snoring and steady breathing from the other man in the bed. He gently shut the door behind him and took a couple steps forward so he was hovering at the foot of the large bed.

“Hey, sorry I’m late,” Peter’s enhanced senses picked up the familiar voice from outside the door. “I had a meeting this morning and then I got lost looking for the class… anyway, I’m here for Peter? Peter Parker?”
He frowned at hearing his name, still unsure what exactly was going on. He watched as his teacher continued to stand and stare out the door for a minute before seemingly remembering herself and taking a step back.
“Of course! If you could just go sit next to him until your turn, he’s in the back on the right side.”
The man stepped through the door and Peter gaped with the rest of the class as Tony Stark, in his signature suit and goatee, sporting a pair of red sunglasses and carrying a suitcase walked through the door.

Summary
Tony looked down at him, taking in the closed off posture, unsure what to do, and decided to sit down next to the kid. Peter didn’t make any move, simply continuing to stare down at his lap.
They sat in silence for a few minutes, Peter keeping his mask on and his eyes down while Tony glanced back and forth between Peter and looking out at the skyline. He clasped his hands together and twiddled his thumbs for a moment before he decided he couldn’t take the silence anymore.
“Rough night?”

Tony lifted his head from him hands then and looked at Peter with wide, anguished eyes. His eyes were red and puffy and there were dark circles under his eyes. His knuckles were red, broken, and bleeding sluggishly, small shards of glass sticking in them as though Tony had punched through the glass walls with his bare hands.
He couldn’t smell alcohol on his breath, so at least he hadn’t started drinking again.
“Tony, what—“ Peter whispered, “what happened? Are you alright, are you hur—“

Anything we give him for pain he’s going to burn through in seconds. We haven’t been able to make anything yet that is strong enough for his system.”
