When you agreed to a date with your really cute, super cool, unfairly attractive neighbour, you hadn’t known exactly what to expect.
When you’d first met him, he was moving into the place — he had been quiet, but friendly, answered questions when asked, and to be honest it had been his friend who’d done most of the talking (he’d been going on about artwork and photographs on the walls, and said new neighbour had given very non-committal responses to the options offered). He hadn’t even seemed to have that much stuff to move in, from what you’d seen in his living room when you’d brought over cookies and offered your help, and he had politely declined both (but the friend had accepted the cookies, and left them on the brand new coffee table). But he was cute, that was the first thing you noticed about him — the second had been the way his t-shirt clung to his arms, and that was when he had progressed from cute to “unfairly attractive”, because watching him carry stuff was unreasonably hot.

Alex was barely listening to the tour guide as they walked through the exhibition, one wired earbud in his ears as they walked around.
Getting a tour of the Louvre had been surprisingly easy. Well, it shouldn’t have been surprising, considering this was a world-renowned museum with multiple pieces of art and artefacts that people travelled from far and wide to see. It was only expected that there would be a tour guide available to not only show the people these pieces, but inform them of their history and provide additional information that the plaques wouldn’t give them.
But Alex wasn’t listening to her. Not that he didn’t have any interest in the Louvre and it’s displays, but he’d already been before with his uncle, many years back, and he already had a lot of the information they were telling him. Unless they had any new exhibits, he wasn’t really gaining anything new by listening to her.
That was why his eyes were darting around the room, looking for possible openings, exits and weak spots. Points that someone who wanted to, perhaps, steal from the gallery would use to their advantage.
“You see anything?”
