Summary
“Come in,” Niki called through the door.
He pushed the door open and let it fall shut behind him as he made the walk over to a chair in front of her desk. On it was a single file that she pushed towards him.
“You were specifically requested.”
That piqued his interest. Usually, Niki assigned them based on who had the best skills for the job. A request was unusual…
He flipped open the file to the summary page and glanced up to see Niki looking at her own copy.
“Your charge is Tommy Watson, son of Phil Watson and famous singer,” Niki read.
Or: Skilled bodyguard Technoblade is approached with the new job of keeping famous singer Tommy Danger Innit safe while on his first country-wide tour. Someone is out to hurt him, and it's Techno's job to stop them. He has to weave through the lies and stories to catch this person. Summary
Someone was watching them.
“Stand up,” Techno whispered, kicking Tommy gently on the foot to get his attention. “Put your phone away for a second.”
He could see Tommy’s body language shift as his mind processed what Techno was saying, and wordlessly he slid the phone into his pocket. Barely raising his head, Tommy met Techno’s gaze with a hint of fear in his eyes.
Slowly Techno shook his head. “It’s probably nothing.”
Before Tommy could respond, he subtly shifted in front of the kid and looked around. There was no one new in the area that he hadn’t already been aware of, but the feeling was still there. A feeling that could mean many things. It could be someone watching them because they recognized Tommy and wanted a picture, they recognized him and wanted to hurt him, or they somehow recognized Techno.
The last two were the ones he was most concerned about.
Those were the ones where it could get messy fast.
