The gods need a lesson.
After so much time being all powerful it’s time they realize how fragile they truly are, how easy enemies have risen among them, how their own actions have led them to almost extinction so many times. They need to know those they see as pawns, they have to understand their pain and their fights, they have to be faced with all the pain and despair that colors the lives of those who they most often see as pawns.
They have to see the demigods as they are. As children, their children.
Or: The demigods from a few days after the battle against Gaea and the gods from two years before the Master Bolt is stolen are given ten books to read with the expectation that it will give them what they need to create a different, and better, path.

If you like this kind of story you’re probably desperate enough to check every new one out, if you don’t, I know there is nothing at all I can say to convince you to read this one, and if you don’t know what a reaction fic is and simply start this one out of curiosity , I might be the one to drag you into this rabbit hole.
If that’s the case, I am deeply sorry, and good luck. It’s pretty hard to leave this trope behind once you’re into it.

Summary
Percy took a deep breath before squaring his shoulders, lifting his chin, and walking forward. The doors closed behind him and he felt shadows of his younger self as he walked through this familiar, yet forgotten room. He couldn’t help but feel something, seeing the old throne room and how different it was. Especially knowing that in a few years, it might be destroyed and forever stained with grief and the blood of his family.
Or, the Fates give Percy to chance to persuade the gods of 2005 to change their ways. Percy is determined to save everyone and if he had to yell at the gods (ahem, Zeus and Hera) to do so, then, well, he wasn't exactly upset about it.
on hiatus; every comment asking about an update adds two months to the delay time before the next update. also, if you cannot deal with incomplete fics, you can always filter by completion when searching for fics. that being said, this is not abandoned. i am a person first and a writer second, especially because ao3 fics are a fun hobby. i don’t actually need to post fics. they are a privilege, not a right.
