Charles stills. ‘What’s wrong?’ he asks, taking a step back and dropping his hands from Erik’s face.
Erik looks hesitant, brows furrowed and his flat lips pressed further into a thin line.
Erik is the most confident man Charles knows, be it in movement or thought. He’s straightforward and presses on without a sliver of doubt in his mind. This image of Erik, however, is unfitting — uncertain and unsure.
‘I’m not used to this,’ Erik says, staring at the thick oak door to his left as if contemplating flight.
This? Had Charles misread the situation? Had Erik not been interested in him during all those days spent together travelling across the country and finding mutants? He wouldn’t have pulled Erik into an empty room in the middle of training like a love-struck teenager otherwise.

Erik wasn’t Charles’s usual type, he was actually younger than Charles by four months, and nearly not old enough for him to consider fucking the alpha. But Erik moved with a confidence that threatened lesser alphas. His presence alone commanded attention. There was a gravitas to his persona that exudes power. Besides, he looked far too old for a man who was just shy of thirty. And well… Charles wasn’t one to let a fine specimen like Erik slip away without trying. So he had tried his hand at seducing Erik, and it hadn’t worked, much to his despair.
Erik had looked at him sidelong and simply stated, as though it were observation, reason, explanation, and dismissal all rolled into one, ‘You’re spoilt.’
The desire to bend Erik to his will only intensified for Charles. He had wanted to bring Erik to the brink of surrender and keep him suspended there. He had wanted to ruin Erik for any other omega in all the nine systems. It had all been a game to him then, and Charles was very good at the long ones.

Or: Erik is an asshole to poor (annoying) children, misses Charles and doesn't really want to process his emotions correctly. Who needs that anyway.

Erik is a skilled Technical Engineer. He's brilliant, top-grade, steely and incredibly successful. So why then is he being forced to work with Tony Stark on a top-secret new job for his company? Poor project management...that's why. And he's furious for it. Stark is insufferable to work with, he hates making the commute to their meetings, and now he's having to spend nearly every day in the cramped little References Department where the project is meant to be installed.
To top it off, it's all still a secret, the office staff are incredibly nosy, and the department head-...well, he's unbelievably distracting.
To say the least.
Honestly, Erik really didn't expect to meet a man like Charles Xavier in an office like this.
