Summary
Liberty and democracy had lost all meaningfulness, and only the Jedi's tenuous control of the military through the loyalty they command from the clones in the absence of a legitimate Supreme Chancellor kept the Republic from sinking into complete chaos as everyone tried to deal with the end of the civil war and the death of their Chancellor accused of treason by the Jedi.
As a newly widowed mother, Padmé is faced with increasingly uncomfortable choices in defending what she has always believed in, while voices are raised against the Jedi, threatening what her husband has always held so dear.
Wherever he was, Padmé hoped that Anakin was watching over her and their children, for the Force knew how much she would need it.

Palpatine, Dooku, Ventress, Opress and now Grievous were dead, and Maul had been captured and was being brought back to Coruscant by Ahsoka, the Sith were gone, and the Separatist Leaders had been captured on Mustafar. The war was over. She could just stop here, retire and live peacefully, but Padmé has always been a woman of duty, a woman of righteousness and sacrifice. She couldn't let the Republic go down without a fight, nor could she let the Jedi Order be torn to pieces by a corrupt and adrift Senate without its all-powerful leader.Series

It is a time of rebuilding for the Galactic Alliance and Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Order. The Sith Lord Darth Caedus, once Jacen Solo, is dead. His twin sister, JAINA SOLO, has secluded herself in the aftermath of their fateful duel aboard the Star Destroyer Anakin Solo. She has been granted succor within the borders of the IMPERIAL REMNANT, both to separate herself from the recent trauma of the Second Galactic Civil War and to aid her dear friend, once lover, and the new Imperial Head of State, Jagged Fel.
Sensors have detected a mysterious anomaly within Imperial Space, responsible for interrupting communications and threatening hyperspace lanes connecting the Remnant with allies in the Unknown Regions. With few options and fewer resources to deal with the anomaly, Head of State Fel has deployed Jaina to investigate. Armed with her starfighter, her lightsaber, and the Force, the SWORD OF THE JEDI hopes her errand will only be routine…
