Summary
And then there was John. Dr John Shen, who at first glance looked to be entirely too nonchalant to work in the ER. Dr John Shen, who always carried around an iced coffee from Dunkin’, who was calm and relaxed in the most extreme situations, who soothed patients’ worries with only his words, and who was unfairly handsome. He had introduced himself to Dennis on his first day of night shift with a honeyed voice, a small smile on his face and the reassurance that it really was okay to call him John, not Dr Shen. ‘None of that formality nonsense, we are all equals here in the Pitt.’ And that was that.
***
Dr Dennis Whitaker had been on night shift for two weeks, and the crush he harboured for his attending was only getting worse. How was he going to make it through the next few months of his mandatory night shift rotation? And why was Dr Shen lingering ever closer to Dennis, finding every excuse to be by the younger man's side?

“Do you actually, y’know, like him?”
Dennis bristled. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Dennis simply shrugged. “Maybe I have a thing for crows' feet, ever thought about that?

Summary
He really shouldn’t be looking at Dr. Robby like this. Not in his own home. Not when he’s unable to say anything about it.
Dennis bites his lip harshly, but still can’t find it in himself to look away.
Maybe it won’t hurt just to look a little closer. It’s not like Dennis is touching him, he’s just looking at his clothed body. Dennis can’t help but wonder how long Robby is under those tempting briefs. Is he big?
Partly from genuine curiosity and mostly from sheer pervertedness, Dennis peers even closer down between Robby’s legs, focusing his attention on Robby’s groin.
If it’s just through clothes, Dennis thinks stupidly, it’s fine right?

Summary
Dennis Whitaker, an android who's purpose was to work on the farm in Nebraska, had always been entranced by what ever medical book or article he came across. One day he witnessed someone close get injured and couldn't do anything. Thats when it clicked, that he couldn't live like this anymore... So he left.
He didn’t expect to be this far from home, yet here he was in Pittsburgh at the PTMC under the disguise of a 4 year med student.
-
Michael Robinavitch has always been against the changes at the PTMC, especially during the rise of AI and androids. His annoyance only turns to full on hatred for it all when his mentor, Dr. Adamson, died due to an overdose caused by android error. Whenever he gets the chance, he will refuse to work along side an android.
With recent additions, he unfortunately is forced to tolerate it so that Gloria Underwood stays off his ass.

Summary
If anyone were to ask Robby how he felt within his relationship with Whitaker, Robby always knows what the first thing he’d say is.
Dennis Whitaker can do so much better than him.
That isn’t to say Robby isn’t very happy that the younger man has picked him to be in a relationship with. He is very happy. This doesn’t stop him from also being severely shocked when it was Dennis pursuing him the first time they did, well, anything really. Of course, the fact that Dennis was even into him at all typically had Robby scratching his head in confusion.

Summary
Robby had never been one to believe in fate.
Miracles, maybe. There had been the occasional rare case, outcomes the textbooks couldn’t explain. Likely good medicine and human resilience defined through divinity. But still, he could believe in miracles. Even just to believe in something.
But not fate. Until he met Dennis Whitaker.
Dennis Whitaker had always seemed to believe in fate. In God’s plan, a path already forged for him to follow, everything in his life having a purpose, a reason. The belief had faded when he’d left Nebraska, as many things had.He had thought that if anything would return his belief in fate, in the divine, it might be working in the ED. Saving patients, witnessing miracles. The worst days of people’s lives, the moment God would step in and shield his sheep from the wolves.
Dennis had been wrong. The ED didn’t return his belief.
He found himself believing in Dr. Robby.
Or Robby wanted to be whatever Dennis needed. And Dennis let him.Based on the song Father Figure by George Michael

Summary
“Good morning Dr. Whitaker!” The kid practically jumps up and down like a puppy. Whitaker is vaguely aware that he’s actually twenty-five but his annoyance is enough to make him ignore that fact.
“Morning.” There's nothing good about my morning.
“You ready for our first patient?”
Our? Whitaker breathes heavily through his nose and starts counting backwards from one hundred in his head as the Pitt's freshest new MS4—James Ogilvie—rambles on about how happy and excited he is to be at PTMC for the third morning in a row. His frown deepens as he wonders how a person can have this much energy at 7AM—or at all—and why he of all people has been chosen to bear the brunt of it. He glances at the human personification of sunshine next to him and decides that he hates the sun. And laughter. And joy.
