2145. The sprawling metropolis of Mega-City One stands as a stubborn testament to human ambition. Towers of steel and glass pierce the nuclear skies, casting long shadows over the overcrowded streets below. Longer still is the shadow of The Law. Judges, duly-appointed arbiters of justice, given extreme powers to combat a tidal wave of lawlessness, able to hand out instant sentences as both jury and executioner while they patrol the crime-infested sectors.
Among these is Cassandra Anderson, a veteran Psi-Judge who finds herself thrust into a series of nightmarish adventures that threaten to unravel the very tapestry of the universe.

Has Hiryu awakened to a dark future, or has he been thrown into an alternate timeline? The Strider intents to find out, avoiding the judges as he tries to help the denizens of Mega-City One, but Judge Dredd does not abide vigilantes no matter what.
